Types of Estimation

Quantity Survey. Figuring out the amount of each material you’ll need for the project

Cost Estimates. Putting a price on each of those items to find out the total cost of your project

Construction Cost Estimate

Foundation works - clearing & grabbing - estimate for wall footing & masonry wall -

estimate for column footing - slab on ground - framing works - beams - second floor

beams - second floor framing - columns - steel works - roof framing works - interior

finishes or partitions - concreting of 2nd floor - install utilies - electrical works -

plumbing works - Finishing works (tiles works, paintings for walls, ceiling framing &

board installation] - Final cleaning

Tangible Costs

- Visible and Countable expenses

- The one you can touch, see, and count

- Include what a business pays its:

• Employees. Their Salaries

• Inventory. The cost of material and finished products you have

• Computer Systems. The cost of the computer you use

• Land or Equipment. The cost of space where your project is located or the tools you

use

Intangible Cost

• A fall in employee’s morale

• Damage to a company’s reputation or brand

• Customer dissatisfaction

• Loss of Intellectual capital following employee layoffs
