10 II, Taylor and Maclaurin Series

Math 5B, C. Loritsch
A. More with Taylor & Maclaurin Series
Now that we know how to find a Taylor Series, let’s explore the finer details, like what the Taylor Series can tell us, how
we can get additional Taylor Series, and the convergence of Taylor Series to our given function.

D. Theory: Show a function converges to its Taylor Series

We said before that if 𝑓 has a power series expansion, then it is given by Taylor Series. What we need to show is that if
we have a power series expansion, can we show that it converges to the function?

Begin with  cn ( x − a)n . Remember: What was our original definition of a series converging?
n =0
