CATCH-UP FRIDAYS TEACHING GUIDE

(FOR VALUES, PEACE, AND HEALTH ED)

I. General Overview
Catch-up Subject: PC and CC Grade 8
Level:
Quarterly Theme: The learners demonstrate Sub- MELCs: Explain physical
understanding of the particle theme: changes in terms of the
nature of matter as a basis for arrangement and motion of
explaining properties, physical atoms and molecules;
changes, and structure of (S8MT-IIIc-d-9)
substances and mixtures.
Time: 9:20-10:20 AM Date: February 16, 2024
II. Session Details
Session Title: Changes are the constant thing in this world
Session At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
Objectives:  Differentiate physical from chemical change.
 Enumerate and discuss the different physical/phase changes in
matter (Evaporation, Condensation, Sublimation, etc.) in terms
of molecular arrangement and molecular motion.

Key Concepts: - The importance of differentiating physical change from

chemical change.

Group discussion:
 Ask each group to share their identified physical
changes and chemical changes.
 Encourage students to reflect on how changes can also
affect their lifestyle.
 Discuss the parallels between maintaining natural
physical change and chemical change.

- The importance of physical change and chemical

changes in the case of pollution and our planet.
10 - How to take care our one and only planet?
