Dear Parent/Carer,

Currently, most of our students arrive on time to school but we are concerned that a number of students
are regularly arriving late to school and this results in missed learning time in lessons.

In order to address this issue we are changing how we deal with students who are late to school.

From Monday 6th June 2022 (after the half term break) the following times apply to students

Year 7, 9 and 11 All students must be on the school site by 8.23am (Lessons start at 8.25am )

Year 8 and 10 All students must be on the school site by 8.28am (Lessons start at 8.30am)

The following consequences will be in place for students who are late to school

First late in a week 30 minute late detention after school

Second late in a week 30 minute after school detention and 1 hour leadership detention on Friday
Third late in a week 30 minute after school detention

Parent/carer will receive a letter relating to possible fixed penalty notice fine

Can I also take this opportunity to let you know that from September the times of the school day will
change slightly so that

 All students will need to be on the school site by 8.28am for lessons to start at 8.30am
 The school day will end at 2.45pm for all students
