The line graph indicates the number of shipping goods which conveyed by four ways different in the
United Kingdom during a 28 years period starting from 1974
As can be seen from the chart , the figure for the road , water and pipeline were growth . The number
of rail staied stable . Besides , the quantity of goods transported by road was highest and the figure
for the pipeline hit a lowest line during the period.
To begin with , the number of goods transported by road was over 30% higher than that of the water
at 39% . In 3 next years , the figure road fell slightly the opposite was true for that of water increased.
In 1982 The number of the road grew significantly and reached the highest point of 95 million tonnes
in last year . Whereas , the quatity of shipping goods by water unchanged over 59 million tonnes and
hit a low of 50 million tonnes . then the figure for water rose in 2002 .
In 1974 the figure for rail peached at 40 million tonnes , in comparison with the pipiline which hit a
lowest over 10 . In 1978 the quantity of goods transported by pipeline increased gradually while the
figure for rail declined . In 1982 the pipeline were more or less stable in the 20 years just there were
some slight shifts . At the same time , the figure for rail fluctuated and hit a point of 40 millions
tonnes in 2002
