• Understand from where formulas/theorems came
from

good guide is all they need
• The way they prepare
What should we do?
• First improve the basics

Markers
• Identify different sentence (complex) structure
• Start writing
• Think calculator as your enemy
• Learn math basics from class nine-ten book
• Don't read for the sake of the GRE; read for pleasure
and take it as fun!
From where to start?

Start developing the basics

Exam Day Tips – My Error log
My Quant lousy errors
• Read carefully full question
• After finding the answer, read again what the question asked for
• If you find any question in the test convoluted, skip 1st time and
comeback after finishing other questions
• Careful about -5>-6, don’t rush
• At least probability(p) means 1- compliment of p, so sometime I
used to calculate compliment of p and answer a the trap option
for compliment of p
• If x has two possible answer, test the equation if both answer fit in
the equation
• Don’t make assumption in Geometry, like I used to assume look
alike 90 degree as 90 degree angle
• In Quantitative Comparison Questions, check the value of x by
0,1,-1,.5,-.5, 3, -3
My Verbal lousy errors

• Pronounce unknown word to check if you know the word before

just only by listening
• For TC, after choosing answer, read full sentence with the
answer
• RC always refer back to passage
• Avoid extreme word in the answer choices, usually
• Don’t waste time in TC, skip if it’s eating up the time
