Theme: Preserving Biodiversity: Assessing Fauna for a
Sustainable Future""

OBJECTIVES:

 To inspire and engage the general public in biodiversity conservation through fauna
assessment.
- This objective aims to raise awareness and promote active participation of the
general public in biodiversity conservation efforts. By showcasing the significance of
fauna assessment in preserving biodiversity, the objective seeks to inspire
individuals to take actions in their daily lives that contribute to a sustainable future.
 To empower policymakers and government officials with knowledge and evidence for
informed decision-making in biodiversity conservation.
- This objective targets policymakers and government officials responsible for setting
policies and regulations related to biodiversity conservation. By providing them with
up-to-date knowledge and evidence derived from fauna assessment, the objective
aims to support informed decision-making that prioritizes biodiversity preservation
and sustainability.
 To equip educators and students with resources and tools for integrating fauna
assessment and biodiversity conservation into educational curricula.
- This objective focuses on educators and students, aiming to enhance their
understanding of fauna assessment and its role in biodiversity conservation. By
providing educational resources and tools, the objective seeks to empower
educators to incorporate fauna assessment concepts into their curricula, fostering a
future generation of conservation-minded individuals.

SPEAKERS

 Dr.Edgardo Lillo -An expert in conservation of native trees and plant taxonomy. Dr.
Lillo's research applies genetic techniques to assess tree morphology, genetic
diversity, and breeding for tree improvement . His work provides valuable insights
into the native tress populations and informs conservation strategies aimed at
preserving native forest. He is awarded as best in research publication for native tree
conservation, restoration, and biodiversity assessment.
 Gilbert Bejec-A silviculturist, forester and conservationist, his work in focuses in
studying tree propagation method and prevention of plant pathogens. He is also
expert in restoration ecology as he lead the restoration program in different KBA of
Cebu Island Philippines.

 Dr. Hemres Alburo-An ecologist specializing in community ecology and ecosystem


dynamics. Dr. Alburo research focuses on understanding how environmental factors
and anthropogenic disturbances influence the composition and functioning of plant.
He is also expert in tree physiology and forest hydrology.

Communicate with the speakers to confirm with their participation, provide them with
guidelines and requirements, and coordinate logistics such as travel arrangements,
accommodation, and audiovisual needs. Ensure they have the necessary resources for
their presentations.
5. Audiovisual setup:
Arrange for appropriate audiovisual equipment, including projectors, screens,
microphones, and sound systems. Test the equipment before the seminar to avoid any
technical glitches during the presentations.
6. Materials preparation:
Prepare seminar materials such as handouts, presentation slides, name badges, and
evaluation forms. Ensure that all required materials are printed and organized prior to
the seminar.
