Midasaur
Masquerading as an innocuous
hoard of gleaming treasure, the
Midasaur is made almost entirely of
enchanted gold coins. An alluring
illusion, only a keen eye may reveal
its true nature before it’s too late.
MIDASAUR THE MAD
Legend tells of an ancient labyrinth
filled with riches beyond measure,
guarded by a horned beast driven
mad by greed. Midasaur the Mighty
was an adventurer that became
a sorcerer-king, and is now but a
hoof-note in the annuls of history.
Some say his lust for bullion drove
him to the dark arts of alchemy.
Others whisper of a forbidden love
that brought Midasaur to the brink
of total and udder madness. What
is true, who can tell, for many a bard
has milked this mooving tale for
coin or ale.

Fools Gold. Possesses the ability to
mimic a mundane pile of treasure,
lying still until unsuspecting victims
draw near. DC 15 WIS or target is
surprised.
Midas Touch. Handling or grasping
the Midasaur triggers a horrifying
transformation, turning unfortunate
souls into additional golden coins.
Compound Interest. Victims of
the Midasaur add to the monster’s
health and wealth. The victim’s HP
are transfered to the Midasaur, and it
also accrues their weight in gold.
Last Will. Upon death the Midasaur
becomes a regular treasure trove!
LOOSE CHANGE
To further challenge adventurers,
the Midasaur dwells in treasure-filled
chambers, where it can summon
2d4 minions. They attack, or activate
traps within its lair.
