Music Education is an incredibly important asset for schools to possess. Almost
more important however is the resources and equipment given to the music department to make it run smoothly. In this slideshow, these photos demonstrate some of the pitfalls of modern music education and how it could be vastly improved. The facilities in lower income areas are often not kept up for students and teachers aren't given the proper materials to teach with. These are just some examples of places where more funding and resources could make a world of a difference. In a high school setting, directors often work extremely long hours with no overtime pay, leading to them being forced to do basic hygiene tasks at work such as eating or brushing their teeth.
