Look for the hundreds column of your number. Look for the thousands column of your number.

Now check the next column. The number will
indicate whether you round up or down. 1- 4,
you round down. 5-9, you round up to the next
multiple of 10.
3,647 - This number rounds to 3,650.
It rounds up to 50, as it is the next multiple of
ten.
Now check the next column. The number will

you round down. 5-9, you round up to the next
multiple of 100.
3,647 - This number rounds to 3,600.
It rounds down to 600, as it is already on a
multiple of one hundred.
Now check the next column. The number will
indicate whether you round up or down. 1- 4,

multiple of 1,000.

It rounds up to 4,000, as it is the next multiple
of one thousand.
