The researcher aims to determine whether reading comprehension skills of indigenous learners
significantly affect the academic performance of junior high school students of Basag Integrated
School during the academic year 2023-2024. Moreover, the study has the following objectives:
1. To determine the reading comprehension skills of IP Leaners.
2. To ascertain the academic performance of IP learners.
3. To determine whether reading comprehension skills of indigenous learners significantly
affect the academic performance of junior high school students of Basag Integrated
School during the academic year 2023-2024.

The Lived Experiences and Challenges Faced by Indigenous Junior High School Students
Amidst the New Normal of Education
This study aims to determine the lived experiences and challenges faced by indigenous
junior high school students of Basag Integrated School amidst the new normal education.
Specifically, this sought to answer the following questions:
1. What are the lived experiences of indigenous junior high school students of Basag
Integrated School amidst the new normal of education in terms of:
1.1 Socioeconomic situation;
1.2 Bullying and discrimination;
1.3 Language and understanding;
1.4 School location, distance, and safety?
2. What are the challenges faced by indigenous junior high school students of Basag
Integrated School amidst the new normal of education?
3. What are the coping mechanisms of indigenous junior high school students of Basag
Integrated School amidst the new normal of education?
