Blog Post #3 Questions:

a) What are your Capstone goals between now and May 1st? Be specific and give
details and how you plan to accomplish it. The more specific your goals, the better
the chances you will have of accomplishing them.

By May 1st, I had hope to become proficient in the basics of drawing which includes the fundamentals
shapes of the human anatomy, basic perspective, and shading. Another goal of mine is to finish a piece
and upload it to my website since I have only posted unfinished drawings. Unfortunately, the storyline is
at the bottom of my priority list for my capstone, and most of my efforts will go towards improving my
art skills as much as possible because one day I hope to write and draw a graphic novel and have it
published.

b) Which specific elements of your project will you accomplish before the end of the
month? Create a checklist of things you want to finish over the next 2 weeks.

Since I have learned perspective and can draw at a decent skill level, my next step is to learn basic
anatomy so I can incorporate people into my drawings. Learning basic anatomy will involve perspective,
and more advanced anatomy may involve shading (gives shape and form to the character).

c) What strategies will you implement to help you accomplish your goals and stay on
task? List the strategies you will use to keep yourself on track.

I have set a timer to practice drawing every day for 15 – 30 minutes, and I will watch tutorial videos for
basic anatomy and shading.

d) Explain how well you have been doing at providing evidence of your progress and
learning during this time?
If you have been on top of posting your progress, what has helped you stay on
task?
If you haven’t been keeping up with your posts, why and more importantly
how will you rectify this?
Remember, you should be posting to your Evidence and Progress Page at least 2 - 3
times per week. If you haven't, then this is your chance to make that happen over the
next few weeks.

I have not been on top of posting my progress and working on my capstone, however I have set
reminders on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday to help me remember to update my website at least 3
times a week.

e) Post 5 photos of your progress to date, showing your work from the beginning and
your progress to date. Paste them in chronological order and provide a one or two
sentence explanation of what the photo represents.
This is a drawing of one point perspective which means that there is one vanishing
point on the paper.
This drawing is 2-point perspective, so there are two vanishing points on the paper.
This allows to see the object from another side. On the bottom right corner, I drew a
rough sketch of a car, although that is one point perspective.
This is an unfinished two-point perspective drawing. It’s supposed to be a view of
the buildings from the corner of a street.
This is a sketch of objects in three-point perspective, so there are three vanishing
points on the paper. Three-point perspective allows for tilt.
I tried incorporating a person into a one-point perspective drawing. It’s a supposed
to be a person walking down a lonely road towards a mountain. It’s unfinished
though.
