Kennesaw, GA. – Working together to reunite rescue animals with their forever homes,
Lazy Labrador Coffee House and Mostly Mutts Adoption Center are brewing a
connection by supporting local pet rescues and adoption events.

Just three years ago, Bob and Susan Milani realized their dream of opening a coffee shop
with a mission of helping animals in need. Along with crafting delicious drinks, Lazy
Labrador donates a portion of its profits to Atlanta Lab Rescue and the Mostly Mutts
Adoption Center.
In 2021, Mostly Mutts named a litter of puppies after Lazy Labrador's most popular
drinks, sparking quick adoptions of the litter.

Since then, the coffee house has regularly donated to the adoption center and sponsored
their annual fundraiser. The Fundraiser is set for March 3 this year, featuring a raffle with
prizes. Traditionally the coffee house has always provided a gift basket with store
merchandise and gift cards for the event.

“We pull our animals from the local animal control facilities where they're in danger of
euthanasia,” said Kelly Long, the front desk manager at Mostly Mutts, “Any help at all is
always welcome to assist these animals in need.”

Aside from sponsoring t-shirts for the adoption center, the two businesses collaborated on
an event for a while, but they plan to change that this year. To help students with stressful
exam weeks but also to bring dogs to meet their forever parents, Lazy Labrador is
planning to host an ‘exam week wind down’ either at their personal dog park or at the
adoption center itself featuring Mostly Mutts cutest rescue dogs.

Madison Joiner has worked at Lazy Labrador since they opened their doors, and has
worked as the operations manager for two years.
“I’ve worked here since they opened up and I’m excited for us to do something fun for
students and animals. We haven't done something like this since I started,” said Madison.

In the seven years that Kelly has worked at the adoption center, she has been so grateful
for the support that the Lazy Labrador has provided. She highlights their current working
relationship.

“It’s difficult for us to host events together since the coffee shop is such a small place, but
we always send business their way. Whenever a foster dog is late, or the adoption process
is taking longer than expected, we send them down to Lazy Labrador and they get a
discount on any beverage purchase,” said Kelly.

With over 500 volunteers, the adoption center has more than plenty of help. They boast
over 800 adoptions a year, their joint fundraising events and the summertime is their
busiest season.
