HARBOURS

TASK ORGANIZATION:
Intelligence report from security in North Kajiado district has deteriorated considerably. So far, many
lives have been lost and properties have been looted. This has been attributed to kanyaga
commandoes led by ex-army major general nicknamed boxer, the most affected areas are Kamukuru,
Losinyai plains and Oloolmakati escarpment. Therefore, the commandant has directed our Z
Company to establish Coy harbour at GR 400210 to act as operational base around the affected
areas.

PRELIMINARIES:
NORMAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: shall be conducted as previously taught in skill at arm lesson
NUMBERING OFF:” I will divide the groups into three groups.” Section one, section two and section
three.
SITTING PLAN: - section one will sit at the rear, section two in the middle and section three in the
front.

GROUND
COMPANY AREA IN GENERAL
The company area is generally hilly towards the northern side, and also dominated by rocky and
Nairobi Magadi road .the southern part is dominated by knolls.

PLATOON AREA IN DETAILS


Left fore ground:-covered by lose stones and part of Nairobi Magadi
Centre fore ground:-forms part of the assembly area, and also dominated by loose stones.
Right fore ground: The area is generally hilly covered by part of Oloolmakati escarpment.
Left middle ground: - The area is generally flat covered with loose stone, shrubs and scattered trees,
part our route out and route back.
Centre middle ground: - The area is generally flat covered with loose stone, shrubs and scattered
trees, part our route out and route back.
Right middle ground: - The area is generally flat covered with loose stone, shrubs and scattered
trees, part our route out and route back.
Left distance ground: - The area is generally flat covered with loose stone, shrubs and scattered
trees, part our route out and route back.
Centre distance ground: - The area is generally flat covered with loose stone, shrubs and scattered
trees, part our route out and route back.
Right distance ground: - The area is generally flat covered with loose stone, shrubs and scattered
trees, part our route out and route back.
SITUATION
ENEMY FORCES:
Strength: - they are believed to be about 2-5 in number.
Weapons: - they are armed with G3 rifles
Dress: - they wear military mixture with jackets turned outwards
Location:-they are situated along Nekunia plains
Disposition: - they operate as one group
Moral: - very high due to successful raids
Intentions:-to stay and terrorise the locals
Habits:-they patrol during the day.
Personality:-lead by ex GSU major
FRIENDLY FORCES
UNIT PLAN
The commandant General Service unit is concerned with the security situation
within Nkunia plain and has therefore directed the OC Zulu Company to move out
and take the necessary measures and restore peace once and fore all.
COMPANY PLAN
The officer commanding Zulu company has therefore directed the officer
commanding platoon two of Zulu company to dispatch patrol to enhance the
stopping of the enemy’s activities.
ATTACHMENTS AND DETTACHMENTS:-
We shall neither have attachments or detaches to our platoon.
CIVILIANS AND REFUGEES;-
We shall avoid them for their intentions are not known.

Our mission is to move in and establish a harbor position at GR 400210 which will act as operational
base At Nkunia plains X2
EXECUTION

MISSION AND TASK
GROUPING: - we shall operate in four groups i.e, section one, section two and section three.
Section one:-
GROUP ONE: SECTION ONE
Composition:-commander of section one, his2 i c, two gunners and six riflemen.
Mission:-establish a harbour position at GR 400210 to act as an operation base.
Task: - to occupy the harbour position between six o’clock to three o’clock.
Additional task: - to protect the harbour position between six o’clock to three o’clock.
Limit of exploitation:-not beyond Nkunia plain.
Reorganisation: - at the harbour.
GROUP TWO: SECTION TWO
Composition: - commander of section one, his2 i c, two gunners and six riflemen.
Mission:-establish a harbour position at GR 400210 to act as an operation base.
Task: - to occupy the harbour position between three o’clock to nine o’clock.
Additional task: - to protect the harbour position between three o’clock to nine o’clock.
Limit of exploitation: - not beyond Nkunia plain.
Reorganisation: - at the harbour.
GROUP THREE: SECTION THREE
Composition: - commander of section one, his2 i c, two gunners and six riflemen.
Mission:- establish a harbour position at GR 400210 to act as an operation base.
Task: - to occupy the harbour position between nine o’clock to six o’clock.
Additional task: - to protect the harbour position between nine o’clock to six o’clock.
Limit of exploitation:- not beyond Nkunia plain.
Reorganisation: - at the harbour.
GROUP FOUR: PLATOON HEADQUARTERS
Composition: - platoon commander, guide, platoon sergeant and two mortar men.
Mission: - establish a harbour position at GR 400210 to act as an operation base.
Task: - to occupy the harbour position at the centre of harbour.
Additional task: - to protect the harbour position from the centre.
Limit of exploitation: - not beyond Nkunia plain.
Reorganisation: - at the harbour.
PHASES IN DETALS
PHASE ONE: - PREPARATORY MOVE
Time of departure: 0700hrs of 4th February 2012
Method of move: - on foot.
Loading plan:-we shall load our weapons at the start line.
Arcs:-we shall interlock our rifles to cover all rounds.
Order of move: - section one will be the leading section, followed by section two and three at the
rear.
Action on ambush:-we shall apply ant-ambush foot drills and return back to camp.
PHASE TWO: - ROUTE OUT. (FRV)

VI. Action on casualty:-first aider to render first aid.
VII. Action on separation:-trace your route to the first RV or call my cell phone.
VIII. Action on lost: use the Nairobi –Magadi road and trace your way back to camp and on
reaching, report to the senior authority for displinary actions.
IX. Action at RV:-for every i will pass my jungle hut

PHASE THREE: ACTION AT SNAP AMBUSH


I. OCCUPATION-
Move in: - we shall break track in single file.
System: - we shall occupy the snap ambush in a peeling of manner.
Formation:-we shall start by section 1 followed by sec 2 and sec 3 at the rear to form a
triangular snap ambush.
Position of groups: - sec1 will occupy from 0600 o’clock to 900 o’clock, section two from 900
0clock to 1200 0clock, section three 1200 o’clock to 600 o’clock and the coy head quarter at the
centre.
Signal for snap ambush: - I will pass a verbal command.
 Recce group:-(confirmatory Recce)
Composition:-it will be composed of I platoon commander, three section
commander and four guides.
Task:-to confirm the safety of harbour position.
Route: - we shall move out directly to the harbour position as per the GR
Order of move:- my leading scout will lead followed by me, leading scout
of section one, section commander section one, ,leading scout of section
two, section commander section two, leading scout of section three,
section commander section three.
Formation: - we shall adopt a single file formation.
Arcs:-we shall interlock our arcs
Action on enemy ambush:-we shall apply ant ambush foot drills and
withdraw back to snap ambush position.
Action on enemy pre-seen:-freeze and notice the details
Action if snap ambush is located by the enemy: - the platoon sergeant to
take control and move the platoon to emergency RV 400m to the left and
a wait further briefing.
 REMAINDER
Composition:-platoon a sergeant who is the in charge, and three sections
minus section commanders and runners.
Task: - to protect the snap ambush position.
Arc: - facing outside to give all round defence.
Action on enemy pre-seen:- we shall alert the Recce group after noticing
all the details.
Action on enemy ambush:-we shall apply ant-ambush foot drills and
move the platoon to emergency RV 400m to the left and a wait further
briefing.
Action if the Recce group is located by the enemy: - section one will be on
standby to reinforce the Recce group.
Action on return of Recce group: - we shall use the to days password to
challenge the guides at the apex when they return.
Action if the Recce group fails to return: - the platoon sergeant to
communicate with the company commander and by launching a fighting
patrol.
PHASE FOUR: OCCUPATION
Order of move:-we shall move in starting with the gunners of section
three then rifle men of section three, followed by gunners of section two
then rifle men of section two head quarter party then gunners of section
one then rifle men of section one.
Formation: we shall adapt a single file formation.
Arcs:-we shall interlock our weapons.
Method of entry:-we shall enter the harbour position through 6 o’clock
with section guides leading followed by section gunners and riflemen at
the rear, and move ant-clock wise from 6-3 o’clock,3-9 o’clock and 9
o’clock-6 o’clock and the platoon headquarter at the centre of the
harbour position .
Clearance patrol: - each section commander with his guide will move out
for a clearance patrol starting from left to right.
Posting of sentries: - sentries will be posted from each section after the
clearance.
Work phase:-at the platoon commanders ok work phase will start
immediately.
Action on stand to: - men will dash to their respective kips and sentries to
fall back to their kips.
Action on enemy attack: - we shall move out of the place back to
emergency RV

PHASE FIVE: ROUTINE


State of equipment:-All weapons will be at the state of readiness.
Relief system:-section commanders will prepare duty roster and relief
system to established, a copy to be taken to the platoon sergeant.
Cooking and eating: - this will be done in turns always protecting each
other.
Disposal of rubbish:-all litter will be disposed at the designed rubbish pit
there will be no burning of rubbish.
Action on stand to:-every body to be in the full combat fighting order and
stay at their kips with weapons ready.
Action on stand down:-embark to pervious activities.
Action on attack:-sentries will withdraw back to their kips and be ready to
dismantle the harbour.

SUMMERY OF EXECUTION;

A successful operation requires a good team work and good Planning. All participants should avoid
tracks and roads as much as Possible.

SERVICE SUPPORT
DRESS: - all shall be dressed in full combat equipment fighting order.
EQUIPMENT:-3 maps of Olookisaile ,GPS per section, compasses, writing materials, cutting and
digging material per section.
WEAPON:-G3 rifle for all riflemen and M77 for the Bren group.
Ammunition:-riflemen to carry 50 rounds of 7.62 blank rounds and 100 rounds of 7.62 blanks.
RATION AND WATER: - each one will carry one compo 10 man ration and a water bottle full of water.
MEDICATION:-each and every person to carry a field is dressing for first aid.
PRISONERS OF WAR:-platoon sergeant to carry handcuffs, incase we arrest them; they will be
handcuffed and escorted to harbour position for further interrogation.
TRANSPORT: - on foot

TASK ORGANISATION
Following the recent exercise (cordon and search) it has been revealed by intelligence report
received by this command that the general arrested during the raid was a fake one. The report
analysed by the safaricom communication booster at magadi area and our satellite signals indicates
that the leader of the out lowed group “watakiona group” lead by ex GSU tactical wing instructor
coporal Johnny is intending to form up close to the safaricom booster .they are intending to go and
raid AP camp at Ngurumani north.the Commandant general service unit is very much concerned
with what Johnny is doing and therefore he has directed the officer commanding ZULu company to
move out and neutralise all the activities of the watakiona group
