Topic: The Situation in Lebanon

Preambulatory Clauses:
1. Recognizing that Lebanon is in major need of political aid due to the corruption going on
the Lebanese government.
2. Realize that the citizens of Lebanon are in need of humanitarian aid throughout the
country of Lebanon.
3. Understanding that Lebanon is a sovereign nation that has its own rights, and that the
UNPBC has limits to the actions it can take.
4. Recognizing that Lebanon has long-standing traditions when it comes to religious
representation
5. Reaffirming the need for an election in Lebanon to fill the power vacuum in the head of
state position

Operative Clauses:
1. Suggesting the management of religious inequalities and boundaries in Lebanon in the
following:
a. Proposing a new system of election that offers more religious transparency
i. Making sure that this new system will not interfere with longstanding
Lebanese traditions
b. Freedom for election to run for the office of the president
c. The ⅔ majority rule to only include countries present at the vote
i. Showing that this will make it so Hezbollah can no longer stall the
election of the president
d. Calling for specific representation of certain minority groups in Lebanese
government

2. Reaffirming the territorial sovereignty of Lebanon through:


a. Calling for the removal of any foreign troops and influence within Lebanon's
established borders.
b. Expressing its desire to help strengthen the military of the Lebanese state to
manage better and secure its borders and territorial waters.
c. Calling for a ceasefire agreement with nations, like Syria and Israel, as well as
terrorist organizations like Hezbollah, Iran, and Palestinian Liberation
Organization.
i. All to ensure no party harms or endangers the territorial sovereignty of
Lebanon
ii. Reduce the destabilization in the region,
3. Request international support to aid Lebanon
a. Provide future protections of Lebanese sovereignty against its neighbors or other
invaders
b. Supporting small businesses and fostering entrepreneurship to stimulate economic
growth and create jobs. International assistance and cooperation are also crucial in
the recovery process.
c. Since Lebanon remains without a president or an empowered government, one
effective strategy is to support the implementation of the United Nations Security
Council resources aimed at promoting stability and security in Lebanon.
d. Tackling corruption: Implementing transparent governance and anti-corruption
measures to regain investor confidence and attract foreign investment.
i. Overall, restoring Lebanon's economic status requires a comprehensive
and coordinated effort from both domestic and international stakeholders.

4. Providing Lebanon with Ideas for National Actions:


a. Build several high-quality public universities in Lebanon so that we can ensure that they
will end up having a future and so that they will have a good education
i. Promoting national unity to every Lebanese citizen online, politically, as well as
promoting it in schools by having programs and showing it to the people of
Lebanon in the news; this is the promotion of national unity.
b. With funding such as the UNPBC with a starting price of 40 million in education and
several NGOs aiding Lebanon, such as Childhood Education Center, Education
Development Center, CARE, and many more NGOs
c. Financial sector stabilization: Strengthening the security of the banking sector and
implementing reforms to restore trust in the financial system.
Calling for Lebanon to monitor, report, and reduce the smuggling of illegal goods
and weapons across the border.
a. Rebuilding trust: Fostering social cohesion and rebuilding trust among the
Lebanese people, which is crucial for political stability and economic
recovery.
