Dear Sir/Madam:

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Ms. Brianna Salzetti and
her application for employment with St. Joseph’s Hospital in the mother/baby unit. I have
known Ms. Salzetti since January 2024, as her Population Health and Community Nursing
theory and clinical instructor. Ms. Salzetti is outgoing, inquisitive, and has engaged in many
community-based activities during her last semester in nursing school. Ms. Salzetti will be
receiving the Nursing Student Red Cross Pin from the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Red
Cross for her volunteer efforts with the “Sound the Alarm” event in February of this year.

Ms. Salzetti engaged in community-based shadowing with the Tucson Fire Department
(TFD) and the Collaborative Care Community outreach and also spent clinical time learning
about assisting victims of sexual assault with the Southern Arizona Against Sexual Assault
(SACASA). Both experiences allowed for insight into the resources available to people and also
how the social determinants of health affect the well-being of people in the community.

Ms. Salzetti has been an engaged student, exploring neighborhoods and uncovering the
strengths and stressors in the community. She has been thoughtful and very observant of the
surroundings. The documentation of community assets and stressors was objective and detailed.
After completing the community assessment, safety issues of elementary aged children in the
mid-town area of Tucson were identified and a health education on safety when walking to and
from school, when at home alone, and bicycle safety was presented to students at the Jacobs
YMCA Childcare Center.

At the conclusion of the semester Ms. Salzetti and her team developed a research-type
poster which highlighted the community, assessment, issue of concern, intervention, and
evaluation of the health education project. The poster symposium was held at the Pima County
Health Department (PCHD) and was well received by the staff of PCHD.

Ms. Salzetti is an engaged learner, astute in her observations, quiet in her demeanor, and
seeks to participate in activities that enhance the health and well-being of individuals,
communities, and populations. She will, I am most sure, provide excellent nursing for the

newborns and the mothers in her care. Your consideration of her application for a position with
