ACT ONE

SCENE 1

SETTING DESCRIPTION

SHOT OF THE HOUSE FROM THE STREET, NO LIGHTS ARE ON,

SHOWING THAT EVERYONE INSIDE IS ASLEEP.

CUT TO:
WIDE SHOT OF THE ROOM

The boy (Cole) lays sleeping in his bed.

(O.S.)
A knock is heard

Cole’s eyes open and he looks around. However, he goes

to sleep again.

(O.S)
The same knock sound is heard, slightly louder.

Cole wakes up again, this time with more purpose. He

sits up in his bed and looks around his room.
 CUT TO:
CLOSE UP SHOT OF COLE, THEN THE CAMERA FOCUSES ON THE
WINDOW IN THE BACKGROUND

Cole stares at the window

CUT TO:
CLOSE UP SHOT OF COLE’S FACE

Cole appears nervous, curious, and also slightly

uneasy

CUT TO:
CLOSE SHOT OF WINDOW
Ominous music begins to play quietly, but slowly gets
louder

CUT TO:
NEW ANGLE OF THE WINDOW, OVER COLE’S SHOULDER

Cole gets out of bed slowly and precariously walks

over to the window. He peers outside as tension
builds.

(O.S.)
Another knock, this time from behind
Cole, not from the window.

CUT TO:
SHOT OF COLE SLOWLY TURNING AROUND

Cole realizes the sound is coming from inside his

bathroom. He appears more nervous than ever...

CUT TO:
SHOT OF COLE WALKING SLOWLY TOWARDS THE BATHROOM

Tense music grows louder as Cole gets closer to the

door.
 CUT TO:
COLE IN THE BATHROOM, LOOKING AT THE MIRROR

Cole reaches for the light switch. As he flips it on,

the music cuts off and everything looks normal. Cole
reaches up and taps on the mirror, mimicking the sound
he heard earlier that night. After further inspection,
he goes back to sleep.

CUT TO:
COLE LYING IN BED, ANOTHER TAPPING SOUND IS HEARD

This time, Cole is ​very very ​scared. As he approaches

the bathroom for the second time, even tenser music
plays. Cole reaches for the light switch. As his hand
nears the switch, the music crescendos to its maximum
volume. Right as he turns it on, the music cuts and
the click of the switch is all that is heard.

The figure in the mirror isn’t Cole, but Jackson, who

is now revealed to be the source of the knocking. He
has an angery look on his face >:)

CUT TO:
BLACK SCREEN
