BÀI 15 CÂU HỎI ĐUÔI (TAG QUESTIONS)

1. ĐỊNH NGHĨA:

o Câu hỏi đuôi là một câu hỏi ngắn theo sau một mệnh đề. Chúng được ngăn cách với nhau bởi
một dấu phẩy (,).
o Nếu mệnh đề ở thể khẳng định thì câu hỏi đuôi ở thể phủ định và ngược lại.
Công thức chung:
★ Mệnh đề khẳng định, câu hỏi đuôi phủ định:
S + V + O, don’t + S?

S + to be + O, to be + not + S?

★ Mệnh đề phủ định, câu hỏi đuôi khẳng định:

S + don’t + V + O, do + S?

S + to be + not + O, to be + S?

o Khi trả lời một câu hỏi đuôi, ta thường dùng Yes/No và trả lời theo sự thật của tình huống.
Ví dụ:
You’re not going to school today, are you?
(Hôm nay bạn không đi học phải không?)

- No. (=No, I am not going to school.)

(Không, tôi không đi học.)

The moon goes around the Earth, doesn’t it?

(Mặt trăng quay quanh Trái đất phải không?)

- Yes, it does. (Phải, nó quay quanh Trái Đất.)

The moon doesn’t go around the Earth, does it?
(Mặt trăng không quay quanh Trái đất phải không?)

- Yes, it does. (Phải, nó quay quanh Trái Đất.)

Ví dụ:
I’m going to redo it, aren’t I? (Tôi sẽ làm lại, đúng không?)

b. Imperatives and Requests (Câu mệnh lệnh và

câu yêu cầu):
o Có phần đuôi là “won’t you?” khi câu phát biểu diễn
tả lời mời:

Ví dụ:

Take your seat, won’t you? (Xin mời ngồi.)

o Có phần đuôi là “will you?” khi câu phát biểu diễn tả lời yêu cầu hoặc mệnh lệnh phủ định.
Ví dụ:
Close your books while doing the
test, will you? (Đóng sách lại trong
lúc bài kiểm tra nhé.)

Don’t be late, will you? (Đừng đến

muộn nhé.)

c. Phân đuôi của câu bắt đầu bằng “Let’s ...”: là “shall we?”
Ví dụ:
Let’s go swimming, shall we?
