ANALYZE:
1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the
learning of the students going to school? What are your conclusions?

For me, the school campus and classroom environment play a crucial
roles in shaping the learning experiences of students. In fact, the physical,
social, cultural, and technological aspects of the school campus and
classroom all contribute to the overall learning experience of students.
Furthermore, a positive and supportive environment, along with effective
teaching practices, is essential for fostering academic success, motivation,
and the holistic development of students.

2. How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent

development? How does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating
learning?

Well, consider the school campus and classroom environment as a

canvas where the vibrant strokes of education and development converge to
create the masterpiece of a student’s growth. In essence, the canvas of a
school environment becomes a living artwork, influencing the growth of each
child and adolescent. Facilitating learning, then, is the artistry of guiding this
growth, orchestrating a symphony of knowledge, painting with engagement,
and dancing with the connections that shape the student’s educational
odyssey.

REFLECT:
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed?
Why?

Yes, I would like to teach in the school environment I just observed which
is the Assumption Academy of Monkayo, Inc. I think this is my school calling
in which I can impart my knowledge in this school and most especially to my
future students. In other side, I’m not sure if I am qualified to be part of this
school, but one more thing that I’m sure about is that I will do my best to
become a better one.

2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?

A conducive learning environment is one that promotes effective learning,
engagement, and overall well-being for students. Several factors that
contribute in creating such an environment on a school campus are the
following: safety and security, well-maintained facilities, technology
integration, comfortable and flexible spaces, supportive teachers, and many
more. Besides, a conducive learning environment is one that prioritizes
safety, encourages engagement, embraces diversity, and provides the
necessary resources and support for both students and educators.

3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?

In my own intellectual capacity, a conducive classroom environment is one

that promotes effective teaching and learning. It’s a space where students
feel comfortable, engaged, and motivated to participate in the learning
process. Some of the factors to be considered as a conducive learning are
the following: positive classroom culture, clear expectations, comfortable
seating arrangements, student-centered approach, varied teaching methods,
and etc. Moreover, a conducive classroom to learning is one where the
physical space, teacher-student interactions, and teaching methods
collectively create an environment that supports and enhances the
educational experience for all students.

4. Write your additional learning and insights here.

Motivation plays a significant role in teaching, and the school campus

environment is crucial in fostering that motivation among students. If students
find their learning spaces uncomfortable, such as being too hot and stuffy, it
can negatively impact their ability to learn effectively. Therefore, I believe that
the learning environment directly influences a student’s learning and
developmental perspective.

Recommendations or Suggestions for improvement

▪ Use a grid system to help structure and organize the content

▪ Align the elements based on its relevance and ideas
▪ Use simple designs to catch interest from students
▪ Use borders or any backgrounds to add more color on the certain materials
My Board Display Lay-out

In my assessment of the board display lay-out, I believe its primary purpose

is to serve as a constant reminder for teachers, students, and all school staff
during various celebrations and occasions. The board aims to both entertain
and inform, maintaining a neat and straightforward design. Additionally, it plays
a crucial role in promoting and facilitating individual’s exploration of personal
meanings or ideas through the displayed information. The language employed
is clear and simple, ensuring easy comprehension for both students and
teachers.

The board serves as a catalyst of interaction in the learning process,

functioning as an instructional tool capable of conveying messages without the
direct presence of a teacher. To enhance its effectiveness, I recommend
increasing the size and legibility of the letters. Incorporating the latest news
and additional educational content would further enrich the board, providing a
more comprehensive and engaging experience for its audience.
ANALYZE:
1. What do you think was the purpose of the board display?

In a school context, a board display refers to a visual presentation or

arrangement of materials on a board or wall. These displays several
purposes, including: information sharing, learning aid, celebrating
achievements, theme decoration, promoting events, communication, as well
as showcasing student work. Overall, board displays in schools serve both
practical and aesthetic purposes, contributing to a positive and supportive
learning environment. They play a role in communication, education, and
fostering a sense of community within the school.

2. Did the board display reflect the likes/interests of its target audience?
Why? Why not?

The extent to which a school’s board displays reflect the likes/interests of

its target audience, primarily the students, can vary based on the intention
and effort put into creating these displays. However, it’s essential to note that
not all board displays may perfectly reflect the individual likes and interests of
every students. Educational institutions often have broader objectives, and
the content on displays is curate to serve these objectives, which may include
academic goals, community-building, and adherence to educational
standards.

3. Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to
understand? Why? Why not?

The clarity and simplicity of language used in school board displays are
crucial factors in ensuring effective communication with the target audience,
which primarily consists of students. While simplicity is general important, it’s
also essential to strike a balance. The language used should be appropriately
challenging to encourage learning and intellectual growth. The key is to avoid
unnecessary complexity and jargon that might hinder understanding,
especially in contexts where the primary audience is comprised of students.

4. Was the board display effective? Why? Why not?

In my own point of view, the effectiveness of a board displays in a school

can depend on various factors, and its success is often measured by how well
it achieves its intended goals. It’s important to note that the effectiveness of a
board displays can be subjective and context-dependent. Regular
assessment, feedback, and adjustments based on the needs of the school
community contribute to ongoing success. If the display meets its goals,
serves its intended purpose, and positively impacts the school environment, it
can be considered effective.

5. What suggestion can you make?

For me, as a future pre-service teacher some of my suggestions to

enhance the effectiveness of board displays in a school are the following
ways: the school must have thematic displays in which tied to current lessons
or topics being covered in class. This helps reinforce classroom learning and
provides a visual connection between the board displays and academic
content. Another one is rotating content to keep the displays dynamic by
regularly rotating the content. This can include showcasing different student
projects, changing themes based on seasons, or featuring new educational
materials. And most importantly, student involvement it involves students in
the creation of board displays. This not only ensures that the content is
relevant to their interests but also fosters a sense of ownership and pride in
their work. We should remember, the key is to continually assess the impact
of the displays and be open to adjustments based on the evolving needs and
preferences of the school community.

My Proposed Board Display

Theme: Maple Leaf Based Look

Board Title: Assumption Academy of Monkayo, Incorporation Bulletin Board

Rationale:
(Purpose)

To inform the students about what is new in the school community. News
and updates about the latest policies and rules of the school made by the
administrators. Guide the students on their school life and update them on the
latest activities and exam schedules. Give information that is beneficial to the
students and the campus community.

Objectives:

To be able to create and design an enhance version of the board display

which is more attractive, clear and well-arranged and secured.

Best features of my proposed bulletin enhancement

The best features of my proposed bulletin enhancement is the use of glass

as its cover. In this way, the postings on the bulletin board are protected from
any form of damage and vandalism.

Content Resources (Name each needed resources and give each a brief
description):

▪Letters and memos from the administrators: These could contain new policies
of the school and other agenda that the school wants to tell to the students as
well as the teachers.

▪Pictures, Clippings, Announcements, and Flyers: These could contain a lot of

information for the students like schedules of exam, activities of the school
REFLECT:
1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come
up with effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed?

To effectively create board displays, teachers should possess five (5) key
skills. Firstly, they need visual skill akin to interior designers enabling them to
conceptualize presentations that have a significant impact on students.
Secondly, strong communication skills are essential, as teachers must
adeptly combine words with visual elements to convey information effectively.
A teacher’s ability to communicate goes beyond mere words. Thirdly,
organizational skills play a crucial role, involving the comparison, contrast,
grouping, and meaningful arrangement of content. Fourthly, creativity is
paramount, with teachers striving to present concepts in engaging and unique
ways. Lastly, a minimalistic approach is valuable, as effective teachers
recognize the importance of distilling content to its fundamental elements. In
addition, acquiring these skills is crucial for creating impactful board displays.
As a prospective educator, it is imperative that I employ these abilities to
elevate my creative proficiency in developing visually engaging educational
materials.

2. Which of the skills you named in #1 do you already have? Recall your
past experiences in making board displays. How do you practice these
skills?

For me, I do have a bit of creativity, organizational and communication

skills. I have done some postings in my assign room before and even in the
school I am teaching during my pre-service teacher. It attracts students if you
have that colorful background and they also love to see their faces or their
schoolmates posted on it. And make sure also that what you posted on you
board will be of great importance to your students or audience.

3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you
take on how you can improve on or acquire these skills?

I think the skills that I still need to develop is more on minimalistic

approach and creativity. There are lots of ways or techniques that I am not
aware of or that I haven’t try yet during my internship because I don’t know
how to do it. That’s why there’s a need for me to be expose to a lot of bulletin
board displays, so that I can apply it on my own bulletin board. Surfing the net
could be a big help since internet offers a wide variety of sample board
display and techniques to become more effective.
