1. Look at the walls of the classroom. What are posted on the walls? What heroes, religious
figures, lessons, visual aids, announcements, do you see posted?
The classroom is so colorful. Their windows had colorful curtains. Their boards had curtains
also. The walls had lots of decorations. At the back portion of the classroom, they had big
bulletin board that has a lot of designs that has a nature theme. They also had achievements

2. Examine how the pieces of furniture are arranged. Where is the teacher’s table located?
How are the tables and chairs/ desks arranged?
The only piece of furniture I saw was the teacher’s table and the chairs. There is only one
teacher’s table and it is located in front of the students’ chairs near the boards in the middle.
6
The classroom has lots of charts, bulletin boards, and visual aids that well contribute to
students’ developments and learning.
Since it is pandemic, and we are just given a video as referral for this activity, unfortunately it
is not stated in the video how many students are occupying the room.
Yes, the room is well-lit because it has four lights bulbs and the classroom has huge six
windows. In addition, the room is well-ventilated. In fact, it has four electric fans plus they
also have six huge windows, making the classroom well lit and well ventilated.

8
How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the students
going to school? What are your conclusions?
When the school campus and the rooms are clean, well-lit, well- ventilated, and
student’s friendly it will be appealing to the student, making the students motivated to go
to school.
How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How does this
relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?
Well, it made me realized how important the school campus and classrooms or the
school environment to the students’ development and learning.
REFLECT
9
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not?
I think the kind of school campus that is conducive to learning is like the
school campus that the video shown. It is clean, green and it has facilities that
helps in promoting students learning and development.
10
The kind of classroom that is conducive to learning is like the classroom that was
shown in the video, where there are lots of leaning materials that was used in decorating
the room but making sure it is still spacious, clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated.
In the future, I can accomplish that by being creative and spending my own
money.
Well, a campus that is clean, green, and has facilities in it, can greatly affects
students’ performance. In the cost of having conducive learning environment for the
students’ learning, everybody should put much efforts and creativity in making the school
and rooms persuasive to students’ development and learning.

=
3. What= are the displays about? What key messages do they convey? What images and colors do you
see? How
= are the pieces of information and images arranged?
The displays are almost all about the school and students’ achievements and some conveys messages
about caring for the students’ mental, emotional and spiritual health. It also contains announcements.
The pictures and color combinations are fine. The pieces of information and images are arranged
properly and it is not messy.
4. What materials were used in making the displays? Are borders used?
The materials that were used in making the displays are colored papers and printed images and letters.
Yes, borders are used.
5. Do you notice some errors? (misspelled words, grammar inconsistencies and the like)
Since it is pandemic, and we are just given a video as referral for this activity. The video did not give
more emphasis on the words thus I cannot pin point if there are misspelled words and grammar
inconsistencies.
12
6. Are the messages clear and easily understood?
For me even if I’ve just given a video to observe to answer this question, I can tell that the messages are
clear and easy to understand because of the theme that correlates to the massages that the bulletins
are conveying.
7. Think about what got your attention. Why did it get your attention?
I think the color combination got first my attention because I am a visual learner and I usually notice first
the colors rather than the contents.
Taking pictures can’t be done because it is just in the video, but screenshot will be my alternative.

Analyze
Did the board display design reflect the likes/ interests of its target audience? Why? Why not?
The board display design reflected the likes or interest of the target
audience it is because the creator already gathered information and interest of its
audiences.
Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand? Why / Why not?
The language used are clear and simple for the target audience to
understand, it is because the creator ensured that the words she uses is easy to
understand.
The board display is effective it is because the sayings are related to the
students daily leaving.
The suggestions I can make is that the board display must be more eye
catching not only for those who loves mathematics but also to those who want to
understand mathematics.
18
Based on your suggestions, propose an enhanced version of the display board. Use the form
below.
Reflect
1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective board
displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
2. which of the skills you named in #1 do you already have? Recall your past experience in
making board displays. How do you practice these skills?
19
The number one skill that I already have is the creativity. I can practice
this skill by doing what I want which is drawing.
3. Which skill do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how you can
improve on or acquire these skills.
The skill that I need to develop is being passionate. The concrete steps that
I will take on to acquire these skills is first is to read more books about being a
teacher. Second, ask advices to the other teachers who are really passionate in
teaching.

Since, I am still a student, I cannot give more instances rather than what is shown in the
video because for me, what is shown in the video is all right and I think all of the principles had
been applied properly and serves its purpose throughout the discussion.
REFLECT
From among the principles of learning, which one do you think is the most important?
I think the most important among the four principles of learning is the last principle
which is the “Learning is a cooperative and a collaborative process. Learning is enhanced in an
atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration”. If this principle of learning is applied effectively
the three principles well also takes place because collaboration makes everyone engaged and
when they are engaged the students will actively participate (Learning is an active process)
making them interested (Learning is the discovery of personal meaning and relevance of ideas)
and when they are interested they will achieve what is in the objective.

The possible consequences of teaching purely subject matter for mastery and for the test
are the students may not be able to relate and internalized the lesson. The students’ will likely to
forget what they were thought. Thus they will not have a meaningful learning.
2. If you were to reteach the classes you observed, would you be teacher-centered or student-

REFLECT
The principles must be applied in order to have a good and achievable outcome. Teachers
must be knowledgeable on how to plan the upcoming discussions or what teaching method to be
used. It should be in line with the students’ needs. Following those principles will give a higher
possibility teaching effectively.

7. If she engaged himself/herself in re-teaching, how did she do it? Did he/she use the same

It depends on the outcome of her lesson, if her evaluation shows that the students
got high scores, then I bet she will do it the same as what she did in her last session.
8. While re-teaching by himself/herself and /or with other students-turned tutors, did teacher
check on students’ progress?
ANALYZE
1. Why should a teacher find out if students understand the lesson while teaching is in
progress? It is not better to do a once-and-for- all assessment at the completion of the
entire lesson?
The teacher should find out if students understand the lesson while teaching is in
progress in order to address the problems directly. It is not a good idea to do a once-and-
for- all assessment at the completion of the entire lesson
47
2. Why is not enough for a teacher to ask "Did you understand, class?" when he/she intends

3. Should teacher record results of formative assessment for grading purposes? Why or why

5. For formative assessment, why is peer tutoring in class sometimes seen to be more

2. What are possible consequences if teacher's assessment tasks are not aligned to learning
outcome/s? Does this affect assessment results? How?
REFLECT
Reflect on past assessments you have been through. Were they all aligned with
what your teacher taught (with learning outcomes?)
Based on the past assessments that I’ve been through, most of the time the
assessments had been aligned with learning outcomes and sometimes not.
How is this affect your performance? As a future teacher, what lesson do you
learn from this past experience and from this observation?
As future teacher, the lesson that I should learn from this past experience and
from this observation is that the assessment should be aligned with the objectives to
make the students realized what is really your lesson all about and to avoid
confusions.
