All NSTP Students are encourage to participate the MALUNGGAY TREE PLANTING in
support of the 47th Regional Nutrition Month Celebration.
Malunggay has its iron compound prevents deficiency of red blood cells known as
anemia. And being a very rich source of calcium, it aids in maintaining healthy bones and teeth.
Malunggay is also rich in vitamin A (higher than red and green mung beans, radish or eggplant),
thus helping prevent xerophthalmia, a disease of the eye.
Today is a very productive day, because today we have a task to do, the Malunggay Tree
Planting. We all know that malunggay is not only helpful in the nature but also to us humans, we all
know that it has a lot of benefits. Today I felt very helpful because in these small ways I can help a
lot of people. Planting is not what youth does today, but this subject helps us to encounter this kind
of stuff which surely inspire a lot of kids and students.
The leaves, which are easy to grow and rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals, are
becoming widely used in projects fighting against malnutrition. Producing moringa leaves is also
a means of generating agricultural income, developing the food processing industry and
founding new businesses.
