ABSTRACT
An Abstract shall be included in the preliminary section of the Report. The abstract in
the body of the Report shall be in the same style as that used in the rest of the Report. The
Abstract shall reflect the contents of the Report and shall not exceed 150 words. Complete the
Abstract in 3 paragraphs:
Paragraph-1: You need to bring in the work you have chosen to do and the reason for
selecting this work.
Paragraph-2: Scope and technical summary. Methodology and Methods used for solving
the chosen problem.

Chapter 1
Introduction
o Length of Introduction: 2-5 pages. Introduce the ideas in much this way. Your
Introduction has to be sufficiently non-technical that the intended reader can
understand it without reading the rest of the report. It has to be interesting enough
that the intended reader will want to read the report.
▪ Why is the speaker interested in this topic? Introduce the topic in non-
technical words. Explain the context in which the work was done. Get
your reader interested in the topic. What were the speaker's objectives for
this seminar?
▪ Give an overview of the seminar. Illustrate this with specific details you
feel are particularly interesting or important.
▪ Place each work in the context of its contribution to the understanding of the
subject under review
▪ Identify new ways to interpret, and shed light on any gaps in, previous research
▪ Place one’s original work (in the case of theses or dissertations) in the context of
existing literature

Summary of Review
Does it improve on earlier solutions to the same problem? Can you see applications in addition to
ones the speaker described? Did the speaker suggest future directions? Do you have any other
ideas for future work on this topic?
Include the work carried out, contributions if any, their utility along with the scope for further
work.

Conclusion
Summarize, very briefly, in plain language, what you learned from the seminar. How important do you
think the topic is? Does this work make a significant contribution?

o If you cite any papers (for example, papers from the reading list), include a list of
references at the end of your report. Reference OR Bibliography: The references should
be numbered serially in the order of their occurrence in the text and their numbers
should be indicated within square brackets for e.g. [3].
