OBSERVATION REPORT

IN TONGAN TONGAN
NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Date visit: OCTOBER 23,2023

NARRATIVE REPORT

My first-day class observation was an intriguing experience that

got me excited about the future. The observation was
fascinating in a lot of ways, sparking my interest in the ways
that the school operates, the learning environment, the caliber
of instruction, and many other aspects that go into making up
an education.
Seeing the lesson in action, I saw both good and bad things.
Teacher Daryl Alpas showed mastery of the material and
provided outstanding instruction. Her methods of instruction
were especially effective in helping the students grasp difficult
subjects. Additionally, students actively participated in the
interactive class. But I also saw that several of the students in
the rear were not paying attention; they were chatting among
themselves, completing personal projects, or even nodding
asleep. It was depressing to observe that some students did not
take the lesson seriously, even in spite of Teacher Alpas's best
efforts and loud voice.

In addition, I noticed that the classroom setting did not support

productive learning. There was need for improvement in terms
of the facilities and classroom structure, as well as the noisy
environment that caused distractions.
Overall, the first-day class observation experience was
enjoyable and thrilling, even with the few unfavorable parts
that were noticed. Seeing a knowledgeable and experienced
teacher in action, utilizing successful teaching strategies and
encouraging student involvement, was a fantastic experience.
The lesson gave us an understanding of the learning
environment, but there is still space for development in terms
of layout, organization, and sound abatement. However, the
class's good qualities provide hope and the possibility of further
success in the school's educational activities.
