Shopping Online
Billy wanted to get a laptop. His friend, Arvind had recently bought a laptop
online. Not only was it cheaper than buying at a retail shop, it was also of good quality.
Billy was unsure about getting it. He asked his older brother, Chris for advice. Chris
told him that he had bought a camera online and was very satisfied with it. After
listening to Chris, Billy decided to go ahead and buy his laptop online.
Firstly, Billy searched through a few online shopping platforms such as Lazada,
Shopee, Lelong and others to get the best deal. After a few days of research, he finally
decided to buy a laptop from a seller at Shopee. The price of the laptop was affordable
and it had the features that he wanted. They were also giving either a mouse or a pen
drive as a complementary gift. Billy chose the former.
The price of the laptop was originally RM 1,200 but since the shop was having
a sale, Billy manage to get it at a discounted rate. He only had to pay RM 840 for the
laptop. Billy managed to save RM 360. He felt very pleased. Billy used his father's
credit card to pay for his laptop.
Billy ordered the laptop on 20 May. He was asked whether he wanted the
laptop to be delivered by Go Delivery or Zoom Express. He chose the latter as it was
slightly cheaper. Billy was then informed that he would get the laptop within a week.
He waited patiently for his laptop to arrive. The laptop arrived on 26 May.
Billy thoroughly checked the laptop and was pleased that it was in good
condition. In fact, shopping online was a more pleasant experience then he expected.

Part 4
At the tender age of 10, I was obsessed with watching YouTube, mainly the
Science channels. I was amazed when I watch how new inventions were being created. I
had always wanted to become a scientist. My parents own a chicken farm. Despite being
uneducated and busy with feeding the chickens in the farm, they took a great interest in
my passion and always encouraged me to create my very own new invention.
When I was in Form three, the Science Club organize a Young Scientist
Competition in conjunction with Science Week. All participants need to invent a gadget
that could assist people in their lives. I knew this was my opportunity and I was so excited.
Finally, I could make my parents proud of me. However, it was not easy as I had thought it
to be. I was at a loss at what to invent.
One Sunday afternoon, I saw my mother massaging her lower back after she fed
the chickens. It suddenly struck me that I could create a gadget that could help my parents
feed the chickens. Besides helping them save a lot of time and energy, they would not
suffer any more back pain from bending for long hours.
I worked day and night despite facing multiple failures. My parents noticed my
frustrations and they kept motivating me. On my part, massaging their backs kept me
going. Finally, I succeeded! I won first prize in the Young Scientist Competition. My
Science teacher was greatly impressed and she submitted the invention to the National
Science Exhibition. To my surprise, I won the Most Promising Young Scientist Award. I
could not believe it!
My parents were so proud of me. I was overjoyed too. I vowed that I would work
harder to become a real scientist in the future so that I could contribute to my country.
