INTRODUCTION
Parental support is one major factor of a child’s learning which positively relates to their
academic performance. To some, parental support can only be defined as mere as paying for a
child’s educational bills. However, it is far more broad than that.

Parental support can be seen through the financial, emotional, and educational support
a child is provided by the parents or any family member in their household. As education not
only stops within school territory, it is also observed within the livelihood a child is exposed to.
Academic performance is one of education's most essential goals, and it has always been
influenced by a variety of factors such as support from the parents and the school atmosphere.

It can be seen that parental support can help students realize their full potential and
achieve success in a variety of fields. This refers to the optimism, encouragement, motivation,
attitude, and support a parent shows to their children that changes their child’s perception of
education. Attending PTA meetings regularly, offering educational support and assistance in
their homeworks, encouraging them to join extracurricular activities — these small gestures can
greatly impact a student’s motivation in education.
