Narrative Report on 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous

Earthquake Drill

Jandayugong Elementary School teaching staff conducted the 2 nd

Quarter NSED Earthquake Drill as of June 09, 2022 pursuant to OUA MEMO
00-0522-0165 dated May 30,2022 at exactly 9:00 o’clock in the morning .
The school head gave a brief orientation on the things to whenever an
earthquake happened. He introduced the three basic steps which are the
Drop-Cover & Hold. He instructed that if ever an earthquake occurred
running away from their place was not the best procedure to do instead
find a safety place and drop down immediately. This position protects
them from falling but still allows them to move slowly if necessary. Second,
we let them cover their head and neck, and entire body if possible,
underneath the study table or desk. He further explained that if there is no
shelter nearby, getting near an interior wall is not safety instead find a
low-lying furniture that won’t fall , and cover the head and neck with arms
and hands. Lastly, he advised to stay in the safety shelter until the shaking
stop and be prepared to move from shelter if the shaking finally over. After
the short discussion the teachers execute the earthquake drill.
