International University – VNUHCM Deterministic Models in Operation Research

School of Industrial Engineering and Management Year: 2023-2024

SEMESTER PROJECT REQUIREMENT

Deterministic Optimization Models

1. General description and requirement:

Description:
- The project is a group-work case study related to Operation research application.
- Freely choose a case study and must apply a mathematical model to solve the problem
(Suggested problems: Transportation, location-allocation, job scheduling,...)
- It is required to formulate a mathematical model to solve the problem and encode the
mode using CPLEX to solve the problem. Link for downloading CPLEX: CPLEX
download
- The dataset used in the project is from real cases or can be generated.
- The project report should follow the report template.

2. Evaluation criterion and Penalty:

Evaluation form:
Criteria Maximum

Problem Identification: Be able to identify 20
different logistics and supply chain problems
Data collection and software usage: Know how to 20
transform the data into the proper form and solve
the models using computer-based software such as
CPLEX, LINGO, PyCharm, MATLAB, etc.
Methodology: Know how to formulate and solve 20
different logistics and supply chain problems by
