EVALUATE AND OPTIMIZE THE WORKPLACE
I. Objectives
The students understand how people physically interact with their work – fitting
the job, the equipment, and the work environment to the worker.
To Work in great safety and comfort with increased productivity.
II. Practice 1
Choose a place to work on the computer (in a Lab or somewhere else)
To practice analyzing and assessing the posture of people working with personal
computers.
Work Organization
1) Ergonomic checklist:
Please use this checklist to evaluate how to use any ergonomic equipment you may
have received (you can edit the checklist to suit the situation).
2) Ergonomic need assessment:
HEAD AND NECK
LOWER BACK
KEYBOARD
FEET AND ANKLES
CHAIR
Feet should rest flat on the floor. If your feet do not rest flat on the floor after properly adjusting
your chair, a footrest should be used.

III. Practice 2

product on the machine (drilling, milling, turning).
