REFLECTIONS ON THE EXPERIENCES OF SWIMMING AQUATICS

I am proud of myself and feel accomplished as I write this experiences about my first
swimming experience. My day of learning to swim will always be one of my most treasured
memories. It can occasionally be difficult to learn new things. I've always been terrified of the
sea and what might happen if I try to swim. I only began to understand how crucial swimming
abilities were later in life, aside from the fact that it was a great workout. I didn't know that
learning to swim could give me a whole new feelings of confidence. This was my first
swimming class, so of course I was a little nervous, as I am typically in new situations. I changed
into my swimwear and waited for the instructor and other pupils to exit the pool while standing
next to it. After a short while, the instructor and other students arrived. This swimming class was
helped me feel more at ease when the teacher introduced herself and seemed quite lovely. We all
entered the pool, and the teacher insisted that we wear flotation devices so we could begin to feel
at ease in the water. Deejays got a kickboard and started swimming off by himself because he
appeared to have taken the course before. Even with floaters, the other student was having
trouble staying afloat, and I wasn't much better. To practice our kicking for the breaststroke, the
instructor made us hang onto the wall. The instructor put each of us on a kickboard and propelled
us through the water as we kicked. Unfortunately, I didn't find things to be nearly that simple,
but the teacher made sure to teach me at my own pace.

After a few weeks, when I seemed to have mastered the leg stroke, he showed me how
to do the arm stroke. I now have to focus on my arms and legs. I thought there was no hope, but
then things started to make sense, and I realized I was swimming. It was a wonderful feeling of
freedom, like I was flying, and it seemed as though all of my fears were gradually fading away.
Although learning to swim was not simple, the effort I put in paid off in the end. I also
discovered something about myself: I may first feel uneasy in new situations, but I know that
with practice, my abilities will only improve and I can actually accomplish anything I set my
mind to. The feeling you get when you accomplish a goal you set for yourself is very great, and
it motivates me to reach all of my goals, the sky is the limit. Since swimming is gentle on the
joints, even those who suffer from arthritis can do it without fear of further damaging their
bones. Swimming is a great workout for losing weight since it burns calories at a rate of one mile
per round of body weight. Swimming has lots of mental advantages.
Being able to take swimming lessons is already a dream come true for me since I really
want to learn how to swim properly. Fitness swimming is a lifetime health exercise that is well
worth the effort it takes to enter the pool. It makes my heart work more effectively and expands
my lung capacity. Additionally, it allows me to hang out with friends while we splash around in
the water. It allows me to escape the heat. and regular swimming help me develop endurance,
physical strength, and cardiovascular fitness. It can be used as a cross-training exercise in my
daily routines. In addition, swimming is a skill that can be learned by everyone. Swimming is a
weight-free activity, which is great, in my opinion.

In conclusion, swimming combines workout and enjoyment for me. While learning to
swim is not tough for me, there are occasions when it is. As we were practicing swimming, I also
choked on some water. I wish I could spend all of my time lying on my back without ever having
to leave the water because the sound of the water lapping my feet is so calming and meditative. I
can survive in situations if I know how to swim. A general activity, swimming can also help with
physical therapy. My body makes use of a lot of muscles.

MODIFIED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

“ROTATION in VOLLEYBALL”
DESCRIPTION:

In Playing Rotation in Volleyball with 48 students in one small gym mandates some
modifications. More than two teams are needed and I don’t like a lot of down time for waiting
students. I am using rotations similar to what we did a couple of weeks ago with handball. I
modified the rules to simplify things and involve as many students as possible.

RATIONALE of ROTATION in VOLLEYBALL

I formed 4 teams of 9. Two teams are on the court with 3 rows of 3. Team 1 serves &
when that ball hits the floor, Team 2 serves. Then, team 1 moves to team 2 side; team 2 goes out;
team 3 comes in. Each team serves again. Team 1 rotates out, team 3 moves to the other court
side; team 4 comes in. Repeat each 2 serves forming circle rotation. It goes quickly and smoothly
once the kids get the hang of it.

Volleyball is a very dynamic sport in which a player can only use his or her body to deflect
the ball in an intended direction. There is no trapping, retaining or catching of the ball . Due to
the rapid contact it can be very difficult to control where a ball goes.

RULES/ MECHANICS OF THE GAME ROTATION IN VOLLEYBALL

1. Server gets 3 attempts. He/she can move closer to the net as needed. Cannot change servers in
the middle of a turn.

2. A new person must serve each turn. The same person cannot serve twice until everyone has
served once.

3. Play begins after a successful serve. Either team can score, not just the serving team. When the
ball goes down, a point is scored.

4. Out-of-bounds is simply the walls, ceiling, steps. If it hits one of those things, it is a point for
the opposing team. If the serve goes out, they get a re-try.
5. No double hits — same person cannot hit the ball twice in a row.

VALUES OF THE VOLLEYBALL GAME

1. Physical Activity - The sport involves quite a great amount of physical exertion, which
can be equivalent to regular exercise.
2. Social Interaction - When one plays volleyball, it requires an individual to work along
with the team to score points and prevent the opponent from winning. Thus it is important
to gel properly with the team and thus provide individuals with excellent opportunities
for increasing social interactions with friends as well as acquaintances.
3. Coordination - When someone plays volleyball, it is extremely important for a player to
have proper hand-eye coordination. This is required for tackling the ball in properly and
also to come in contact with it at the exact angle and spot.
4. Improves Decision Making - The game of volleyball helps to improve the decision-
making process within individuals. The improvement comes through as: One always
needs to predict and read the minds of opposition players, then act accordingly.

MANAGEMENT of ROTATION in VOLLEYBALL

I start each team with 5 sportsmanship points. These points are lost if derogatory comments
are made about a person’s team or teammate. This helps a lot to keep the atmosphere positive,
especially when someone is unable to successfully serve the ball. I also remove a point if kids go
on the court when their team is not up to play, etc.

Team captains are responsible for the rotation of players and making sure everyone has a
chance to serve. I also encourage them to inspire sportsmanship within their team. This turned
out to be a lot of fun! I loved watching the kids help each other on their serves and cheering for
each other. It moved really fast and as the rounds continued, they got better at hitting back and
forth.

Five Standard Tool Used to Measure

the Performance Outcome of Production in Team Sports
(BASKETBALL, VOLLEYBALL, FUTSAL, BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL)

BASKETBALL

1. Points (P): The number of points scored by a player or team during a game.

2. Rebounds (R): The number of times a player retrieves the ball after a missed shot.

3. Assists (A): The number of times a player passes the ball to a teammate who scores.

4. Steals (S): The number of times a player takes the ball away from an opposing player.

5. Blocks (B): The number of times a player prevents an opposing player from scoring by
blocking their shot.

VOLLEYBALL

1. Serving accuracy (SA) - This measured how well a player can serve the ball over the net
and into the opponent’s court.

2. Hitting percentage (HP) - This measured how often a player successfully hits the ball
over the net and into the opponent’s court.

3. Passing accuracy (PA) - This measured how well a player can pass the ball to their
teammates.

4. Blocking (B)- This measured how well a player can block an opponent’s attack.

5. Digging (D) - This measured how well a player can save a ball that has been hit by an
opponent.
FUTSAL

1. Number of goals scored (NGC) - This is the most common method used to measure
performance in futsal. It is a simple and effective way to evaluate the success of a team or
individual player.

2. Passing accuracy (PA) - This measured how accurately players can pass the ball to their
teammates. It is an important skill in futsal as it helps maintain possession of the ball.
3. Shooting accuracy (SA)- This measured how accurately players can shoot the ball
towards the goal. It is an important skill in futsal as it helps score goals.

4. Possession percentage (PP) - This measured how much time a team has possession of
the ball during a game. It is an important metric as it shows how well a team can maintain
control of the game.

5. Distance covered (DC) - This measured how much distance players cover during a
game. It is an important metric as it shows how much effort players put into the game.

BASEBALL

1. Batting average (BA) - This is the most common statistic used to measure a player’s
performance. It is calculated by dividing the number of hits by the number of at-bats.

2. On-base percentage (OBP) - This statistic measures how often a player gets on base. It
is calculated by adding the number of hits, walks, and hit-by-pitches and dividing that
sum by the total number of plate appearances.

3. Slugging percentage (SLG) - This statistic measures a player’s power at the plate. It is
calculated by dividing the total number of bases by the total number of at-bats.

4. Earned run average (ERA) - This statistic measures a pitcher’s effectiveness. It is

calculated by dividing the number of earned runs allowed by the number of innings
pitched and multiplying that result by nine.

5. Fielding percentage (FPCT) - This statistic measures a player’s defensive ability. It is

calculated by dividing the total number of putouts and assists by the total number of
chances.

SOFTBALL
1. On-Base Percentage (OBP) – measures a player’s success at bat by calculating the
number of hits.

2. Field Percentage (FP) – measures a player’s success in the field by calculating the total
of assists and putouts.

3. Earned Run Average (ERA) – measures a pitcher’s effectiveness by calculating the

number of runs scored against the pitcher.

4. Slugging Percentage (SLG) – measures a player’s power and ability to hit.

5. Batting Average (BA) – measures player’s success a bat by calculating of hits.

CASE STUDY
Name of Student: PILAR, KYLA S. Course and Year: BPED3
Resource School: Cabugao South Central School

Overview:

In order to meet the requirements of students with impairments, Cabugao South Central
School offers special education classes. This school's special education program focuses on
assisting learners with impairments. The learning environment in the classroom encourages
students to play, study, and participate in activities that are appropriate for their skill levels.
According to their limitations, the kids are divided into groups. The first group of students are
those who are blind, and they have classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 to 10:30
a.m. The second group of students includes those who have psychological disabilities such as
Personal Disability autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. On every Tuesday and Thursday,
from 10:30 to 11:30, they will be in class. The student with disabilities I teach or guide have a
language or speech impairment, but he is good, and he is more capable of anything than his
brother. I think he didn't have a language or speech impairment; I know that he was just in late
development.

Learner’s Background:

He is Kaith Lanne Takebe from Barangay Baclig, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur. He was born on
September 24, 2017, and he is now five years old. He was diagnosed as a child with
Language/Speech Impairment. He attends his especial class at the Cabugao South Central
School – a “Child – Friendly School”. And their Father brought them into this school to have
their class. This includes his older brother, Yugi III, who also has a psychosocial disability,
autism spectrum disorder, and ADHD. So, His teacher Miss Hanna Joyce Lupian.

In the classroom, the child participates in what the Teacher says also, the child knows how
to write, how to draw, connects the animals to what they eat, counts the numbers, sings the
ABC song, and knows how to dance. He is also good at Speaking English, but he did not
express or be clear on what he was talking about because he has a language or speech
impairment. I think this child is a late bloomer.

Strengths
 He is active child
 Good in singing and dancing
 Focus on what he is doing
 He is always smiling and happy
 Follow the instructions of the teacher
 Well-mannered
 He can arrange the puzzle, same through with their activities.
 He is good at Speaking English
 He engaged and quickly follow to the teacher

Challenges
 If he suddenly remembered his papa, his throwing tantrums. But when his papa arrived
to take him, he doesn’t want to go home.
 He easily bored.
 If he wants something, he needs to act quickly. For example, he should buy juice and
then immediately go to buy it.

 When I first saw him, I knew he had no disability because when you look at him, there
is nothing. I asked the teacher of sped, and he said that he has a language and speech
impairment. And I know this child is late in development or a late bloomer because he
is only 5 years old.

Possible Recommendations
 Allowing more time for a child with disability to complete activities, assignments and
tests
 Having a child with disability sit near you to easily meet their learning needs
 Working with the learners with disability to implement accommodations and be patient
enough
 And using positive feedback when the childs completes an activity independently
 Allowing the child to play and interact with other kids can help him develop socially.
