Title: Propeller assembly removal and installation
Objective: To understand the procedure of removal and installation of a propeller assembly.
REFERENCES – Cesna 150 series service manual, section 13.2 change
TASK: Removal and installation of propeller assembly

SAFETY PRECAUTION/NOTES:

Be sure the magneto switch is turned off before turning the propeller.

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
Torque wrench 25-30 foot pounds and other required tools for removal and installation.

Procedure:
Removal
1) Remove spinner
2) Remove bolts and washer and remove forward bulkhead.(3)

Note : The aft spinner bulkhead (6) is installed between propeller (5) and spacer (8) and is removed as the propeller is removed.
3) Using a punch thru the holes in the forward face of the propeller, drive two dowel pins (7) aft to separate the propeller and the
spacer, freeing aft spinner bulkhead.

Installation
1) Clean the mating surface of propeller, crank shaft flange, spacer and spinner bulkhead.
2) Position aft spinner bulkhead between propeller and spacer, and drive dowel pins into position to attach propeller, spacer
and spinner bulkhead. Bulkhead must be positioned so that the propeller blades emerge with ample clearance
3) Install propeller on crankshaft flange and tighten bolts evenly and torque to 300 to 360 lb-in
4) Safety wire propeller mounting bolts
5) Install forward bulkhead and spinner. Add shims as required behind forward bulkhead to provide snug fit between the
bulkhead and spinner when rear bulkhead attachment bolts are aligned.
6) Install spinner.
