2.6 Technical specifications of underground connections

2.6.1 General Construction Provisions
2.6.1.1 General Distances
The construction of any new electrical structure must meet minimum
technical requirements. Thus, in the case of underground structures,
the aim is to guarantee the safety of the public and that of people
working in the vicinity of the structure, to manage and optimize the
right-of-way of the structure in order to minimize the disturbance
caused by it on existing or future installations. This chapter sets out the main provisions applicable to underground
structures.

2.6.1.2 Containment of defects and protection of the structure

All installation methods must meet the conditions of containment of defects and protection of the structure as presented
below:
> Atmospheric disturbances likely to affect above-ground power networks, as well as
equipment damage, lead to single-phase or three-phase short-circuit currents, the intensities
and duration of which must be taken into account when designing them.

> The short-circuit current clearance currents and times required for the qualification of
cables and accessories are defined in such a way that the fault elimination times are 250 ms
for 90 kV

> The structure must be equipped with adequate protection against insulation defects

induced potentially to the safety of people and the durability of these structures. As a
result, these induced tensions must be limited.

Telecommunication circuits, industrial remote control circuits, remote signalling circuits, or other equivalent
circuits, located in the vicinity of an underground link, are the sites of induced electromotive forces which
may become significant when a single-phase ground fault occurs on the power transmission link.

Consequently, the Manufacturer must calculate the voltage value induced in the existing telecommunication
circuits and take the necessary measures to comply with the regulations in force.

The calculations must comply with the Directives of the International Telecommunication Union (formerly
C.C.I.T.T.) and, if they exist, the specifications emanating from the different networks. The maximum value
of the induced longitudinal tension in telecommunication cables is equal to:
> 650V, when the inductor circuit is a so-called "highly safe service" underground
energy link, which is the case for underground links with a voltage equal to or greater than
63 kV, □ 60% of the breakdown voltage of the telecommunications cable envelope.

When, in a given configuration of the structure, the maximum permissible values for the induced voltage are
exceeded, specific protections must be put in place, such as:
> The installation of enclosures to ensure the rapid grounding of telecommunication
circuits at the time of a fault.
> Installation of other protective devices.

A fluid transport pipeline located in the vicinity of an underground connection is the site of an induced
electromotive force that can become significant when a single-phase ground fault occurs on the underground
connection. This can lead to the breakdown of the protective coating of the pipe and the electrical penetration
of the insulating joints. It is necessary to calculate the voltage value induced in these pipes by the combined
effects of electromagnetic induction and conduction in the ground and to take the necessary measures to
comply with the regulations in force.

2.6.1.3 Electrical Studies

□ The Contractor's service includes:

> A preliminary study to be submitted with the offer at the time of submission,
> The studies of the electrical and thermal dimensioning of the cables, the com-
take all the calculation notes well described, all assumptions used must be justified, '
> The updating of the technical
studies after the final tests has been
carried out in service of the structure.

3.2 Specifications techniques du CGFO

The optical fibres will be of the non-offset monomodal type, in accordance with recommendation G652. D of the
ITU.

fcl r- f'J/sS!
3.2.1 Construction

The CGFO will consist of an aluminum-plated steel wire core with a steel tube containing the optical fibers
installed in intermediate fiber jackets. Aluminum-plated steel wires or a mixture of aluminum-plated steel wires
and aluminum alloy wires will be stranded around the core to achieve the desired mechanical and electrical
characteristics.

All measures will be taken to protect the optical fibers from moisture and hydrogen. The cables shall have the
mechanical and chemical characteristics specified in the previously mentioned standards. Each of the threads
should be free of scratches and burrs due to stretching and superficial defects.

3.2.2 Lubrication

The CGFO will not be greased, i.e. neither the outer layer nor the inner layers of this cable will be greased.

3.2.3 Technical characteristics of the CGFO

The table below specifies the constructive, mechanical and electrical characteristics that the cable must meet. The
central tube containing the fibers will be made of extruded aluminum with PBT monotube, i.e. the fibers will be
placed in a plastic tube (blue loose) and they will not be in direct contact with the metal tube; As a result, during
heat peaks in the event of a short-circuit current or lightning strike, the fibers are not subject to these strong one-
off heat increases.

3.7 Transport

The following procedures are recommended to avoid damage to the cable during handling, transport and storage:

• The drums must always be transported in an upright position with the ends of the cables fixed to prevent them from
being loosened. All drum staves and/or guards must remain in place until the drums are positioned for immediate
installation.
• After transport, the drums should be inspected for damage and for damage to any staves or guards.
• Under no circumstances should the drums be ejected from the truck during unloading or moved by unintentional
driving. It is recommended to use a crane truck for transporting and unloading the drums.
• Loading and unloading must be carried out in such a way that the drum remains in an upright position and the sides
of the drum are not damaged.
• The drums can be moved by driving a short distance to ensure that no objects risk damaging the moat. The
direction of rotation of the drum must be the same as that in which the rope is wound during manufacture. The
acceptable direction of travel is indicated in the drum flange by an arrow.
• Under no circumstances should the drum be placed on its side.
• The ends of the cable should be sealed to prevent water ingress.
• Drels should be stored on a ground that is strong enough to prevent collapse, ideally on a sheltered concrete slab.
• Drum drums should be stored in a manner that makes them easy to handle and load. They must be kept away from
any activity that could damage them.

3.8 Installing the Fiber Optic Ground Cable

In general, the system and equipment used for the installation of OPGW Fiber Optic Tower Cables are similar to those used
for the installation of standard Fiber Optic Ground Cables.
However, due to the existence of a fiber optic strand, great care must be taken to avoid damage to the fibers while always
respecting the minimum bending radius. Therefore, specific components and machines are used for OPGW fiber optic guard
cables: pullers, tensioners, anti-gyration counterweights, swivel joints, pull handles, pulleys, hook-and-loop clamps, pull
ropes, pull ropes, etc.
The lengths of the OPGW drum and, consequently, the positions of the splicing boxes are determined according to the
following considerations: position of the stop towers, access to the towers,

DAO pour la construction de lignes 90 kV SPECIFICATION L0030 - SPECIFICATIONS DES CGFO

3.9 Preparing for installation

3.9.1 Positioning the drum

The drum is placed at the selected location behind the tensioner so that the OPGW feeds from the top of the drum and is
aligned with the intended unwinding direction. Before starting the unwinding process, all nuts on the drum must be
tightened. They should also be tightened periodically during unwinding. The drum should be placed at a distance of 4-5
meters from the tensioner; for a double layer OPGW design, this distance should be increased to 8-10 meters. The drum must
be mounted on a cable holder provided for this purpose. It is also possible to use hydraulic cylinders and a bar of appropriate
diameter inserted into the central hole of the drum flanges. The drum should be raised to a height of 10 to 15 cm from the
ground. The drum holder must be equipped with a braking system; It is strongly recommended that this braking system be a
hydraulic system connected to the tensioner in order to control the rear tension of the drum.
The puller and tensioner must be placed at a minimum distance from the pylon equal to or greater than twice the height of the
pylon.
The tensioner and puller must be aligned with the drivers. The maximum acceptable deflection angle is ±30°.
When, due to terrain or other circumstances, Tangle cannot be less than ±30°, the puller shall be moved to the pylon nearest
to the section providing a suitable location, and then the span a shall be manually wound. Any deviation from the OPGW of
90° or more is prohibited.
I
3.9.2 Puller and tensioner
r

The tensioner and puller must be positioned at a minimum distance equivalent to twice the height of the pylon or structures
to which the cable is attached. In an unwinding configuration using multiple pulleys in the puller pylon, with OPGW
redirection, angles greater than 90° are not permitted, and the puller must be placed at a minimum distance equivalent to
twice the height of the last pulley. The cable drum should be placed behind the tensioner, so that the OPGW enters directly
into the first groove of the tensioner drum wheels. For OPGW's double-layer designs on the right, the cable enters on the left
side of the tensioner reel and exits from the right (and enters from the right side and exits from the left in the case of left-
hand designs). Note that the standard direction for the OPGW is right, i.e. clockwise. We recommend the same control room
for monocouch.es cables.
The tensioner must be equipped with a calibrated dynamometer. The grooves of the drum wheel must be coated with a
material that does not damage the outer layer of the OPGW cable.
The dispenser must also be equipped with a dynamometer. The dispenser must be equipped with an automatic cut-off device
in the event of a cable overvoltage. The pull rope must be connected to the OPGW rope by a swivel joint and a pull handle.
The minimum wheel diameter of the tensioner reel (where the OPGW cable must be wound) used during installation must be
at least 80 times greater than the diameter of the OPGW cable, without the need to exceed 1500 mm. For example, the
LJ
wheels of the tensioner reel of a 15 mm cable should have a diameter of approximately

J
1.2 Meter. The tensioner and puller must be connected to the ground by a system of rotating rollers as shown in the

II
J

following figure. This also applies to OPGW cable and

Projet de renforcement du Reseau National Interconnects (RNI) SONABEL
DAO pour la construction de lignes 90 kV SPECIFICATION L0030 - SPECIFICATIONS DES CGFO
It is recommended to use the appropriate pulleys. The pylon pulleys shall have a minimum diameter of at
least 0.8 metres, measured from the inner surface of the grooves, in all of the following cases:
- In all pylons with a change in laying direction equal to or greater than 15 degrees.
- In the first and last pylons of a single installation.
- If the distance between the pylons exceeds 600 meters.

In all cases, pulleys with a diameter of 0.6 m, from groove to groove, can be used. The pulleys are in acceptable condition
and intact. The groove of the pulley should be protected with neoprene or any other similar material. In case of sharp corners,
the pulley should be positioned in such a way that the rope always passes through the centre of the groove. If the angles are
greater than 45°, a double pulley system should be used in order to increase the bend radius during installation. The diameter
of each pulley must be at least 0.6 m, measured on the inner surfaces of the grooves.

3.9.4 Anti-twist devices

We recommend the use of an anti-twist system for the installation of single or two-layer OPGW cables. This anti-twist
device must be specially designed to connect the pull rope to the OPGW cable. We recommend the use of commercial anti-
twist systems, as these anti-twist devices are specially designed for OPGW cable installations. These commercial anti-twist
devices have a minimum mass of 60 kg and have been specifically designed for the diameter of the pulleys. The anti-twist
system is necessary to compensate for the inherent torque effect of the OPGW cable and to prevent the rotation of the OPGW
cable. This device is always placed at the level of the pull head of the OPGW cable and is equipped with two counterweights
placed at a distance of at least 3 meters from each other. So, when one counterweight passes through the pulley, the other is
operational. The minimum mass of the anti-twist system must be 60 kg. An additional counterweight, with a minimum mass
of 20 kg, must be installed at the end of the OPGW if all cables leave the tensioner. Once the counterweights are installed,
they should not be removed until the cable is not secured and cannot rotate.
Special care must be taken so that the rope cannot slip inside the counterweights due to improper or incorrect tightening.
During the tightening process, special attention should be paid to ensure that the clamping range is appropriate and the
installation procedure is correct, so as not to damage the OPGW cable.

3.10 Spare parts and special tools

The following documents will need to be filled:
• 5% of the total length of fiber optic guard cable on metal drums; these drums shall be stored at a place designated by
the Employer, avoiding direct contact with the ground;
• 5 sets of anchors;
• 10 sets of suspension;
• 5 in-line splice boxes;
• 2 terminate junction boxes;
• 5 Guard Cable Vibration Dampers.

6.2.1 Main features of tubular pylons

In order to reduce the footprint of the line in urbanized areas, before the arrival at the substations, the type of
pylon will change to become round-conical type, made of galvanized steel.
The attached planes give the general shape and dimensions of the standard pylons with the swing spares.
The poles should have the most pleasing appearance possible while meeting the requirements of strength and
practical use. The posts should be round, conical, with a gradual and constant taper.
Only one longitudinal weld will be tolerated (no transverse welds will be accepted). It will be of the high-
frequency welding type.
The computational design will use elastic analysis following the principles described in the ASCE manuals and
Engineering Practice Report No. 72.
The drums must be of a single piece of the greatest possible length within the limits of shipping or
manufacturing possibilities. Barrels exceeding these limits are conquered in several sections. Adjacent sections
will need to be joined in interlocks. However, there must be a minimum of nesting.
The interlockings will be conquered so that their length is one and a half times (1.5) times the inner diameter of
the interlocking female element, according to ASCE, "Report N°72, Design of Steel Transmission Pole
Structures". .
A removable plastic head plug suitable for the pole head will need to be fitted.
6.2.2 Materials
6.2.2.1 Materials for Tubular Towers
All materials must meet the appropriate standards listed in the specification:
• Minimum yield strength (Fy): 50 daN/mm2
• Minimum tensile force (Fu): 55 daN/mm2
• Thickness (e): <or= 6. According to Standard NF A 35.503

Tower configurations will provide for the boundaries indicated on the plans and stipulated in the
contract documents. The general silhouettes of the towers may be modified from those shown on
the plans contained in the contract documents, but the general dimensions, distances between
phases, gauge, arrangement of conductors and ground cables must be maintained as shown on the
plans contained in the contract documents.
The pylons will be symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal and transverse axes.
All brackets will be reinforced with diagonal chords in the horizontal plane between the two main
chords.
The bases of the standard pylons and the shaft extensions and shortenings will be reinforced in the
horizontal plane by struts or trusses placed on the periphery.
The dimensions of the profiles given in the results of the static calculations must be respected. These profiles
can only be replaced by profiles of the same type of steel as they are larger in size. The Owner or Engineer
reserves the right to refuse any modification made to the list of profiles and bolts if the justifications relating to
it are not satisfactory.
For the design of the resistance of the towers, in the case of normal loads, take into account a transverse load 1
due to an angle of 30°.
For the assembly hypothesis, apply a load of 150 daN for the assembler and his equipment instead of 100 daN in
the CAD.
In addition to the guy guy assumption, take into account a load resulting from the ground anchoring of all
conductors at 45°.
The practical design of the assemblies may involve:
• either the use of gussets;
• or the use of a higher grade of steel for the bars concerned a (
• or the use of bars larger than those indicated. »
L
The last two solutions will have to be justified.
6.2.3.2 Quality of steels
The grades, grades and tolerances for the steels shall comply with standards NF
A ' NF A 45 001 or equivalent.
Two grades of steel are used for the manufacture of comières. Steels E and E 36
(A52) have the following characteristics.

For A3 7 steel, phosphorus and sulphur contents will be limited to 0.08 for phosphorus and 0.06 for
sulphur; the sum of these two elements is limited to 0.12.
For A52 steel, the silicon and phosphorus contents will be such that they will guarantee correct
galvanization.
6.2.3.3 Manufacture of tubular pylons
All components of the structure must be fabricated according to plans approved by the engineer.
Generalites
The elements of the columns are made from sheets of steel, cut into trapezoids, and then cold-formed into a round-conical
shape.

Per^age

The drilling or punching of the holes must be carried out before galvanizing, and in such a
way as to obtain cylindrical holes perpendicular to the plane of the material (through holes).

Tolerances

The tolerance of a dimension, the length of the elements, the outer diameter, the outer
diameter, must be as follows:

• Average outer diameters, measured at the ends: + or - 1% with 2mm

• Length of post elements: + or — 25 mm
• Straightness of the elements: less than 0.2% on a one-metre-long element (2mm per
metre)
• Twisting: between two through-holes and/or accessories, less than 1.5 degrees for a
Element length of 3m.

6.2.3.4 Tower Assemblies

Unless otherwise specified in the drawings or special technical clauses, the different sections of tubular towers (lower
shaft, upper pole, brackets) are manufactured specifically for each tower and are not interchangeable. The contractor must
verify the numbers of each section and ensure that each tower is assembled with corresponding parts. In some cases,
anchor bolt cages are specific to each pylon.

When assembling a bracket or easel, shims screwed with the pylon should be inserted into the connection as needed to
compensate for manufacturing tolerances and not to induce unwanted forces when tightening the bolts. The bracket or
bridge must be supported during the clamping process to ensure proper alignment in the transverse and horizontal planes
of the pylon.

Tightening the bolts of the pylons

All bolts must be tensioned by the application of the torque indicated in the drawings by means of a conforming torque
wrench or by the use of special devices as shown in the drawings. All bolts in an assembly must be tightened altematively
and gradually.

Levelling posts and tightening anchor bolts

The contractor must level the lower nuts of the anchor bolts prior to mounting the tower. In the case of a corner pylon, the
bolts may need to be placed in an inclined plane that allows the inclination of the column specified in the drawings or the
particular technical specification to be achieved.A minimum gap of 75 mm (seventy-five millimetres) and a maximum of
100 mm (one hundred millimetres) must be left between the underside of the base plate of a tubular tower and the top of
the concrete surface of the foundation.

To ensure the stability of the lower pylon shaft, a sufficient number of upper nuts must be placed before the upper
sections are lifted. After erection, the verticality or inclination of each pole shall be checked and adjusted so that the
transverse and longitudinal distance between the theoretical and actual positions of the end of each wire trestle is less than
1/500 (one five hundredth) of the total height of the tower. The rest of the upper nuts are then put in place and the upper
and lower nuts should be tightened tightly using a wrench against the base plate.

During or after the final inspection but prior to cable laying, the final torque specific to the drawings shall be applied to
the top bolts. For anchor bolts with a diameter of 57 mm (2-1/4"), the tightening torque is 2,700 N.m with a tolerance of ±
10%.

Assembling and Loading the Interlocking Joint

Before interlocking the sections, the contractor must clean all contact surfaces and correct any damage to the protective
coating (paint and metallization) at the joint.

The contractor must load the interlocking joints prior to cable laying.

The load-bearing force should be applied gradually until the value specified in the drawings or special technical clauses is
reached. After the loading force has been applied, if the base of the upper drum is between the minimum and maximum
insertion marks painted on the lower barrel, the assembly is acceptable and Ventrepreneur must note the distance
between the base of the upper drum and the maximum insertion mark.

Echelles

The contractor must take the necessary measures to ensure that the ladders are not damaged during assembly. Damaged
ladders must be replaced or repaired to the satisfaction of the Owner. After loading the socket joint, the position of the
permanent ladders with adjustment holes must be adjusted so that the distance between two consecutive rungs is 300 mm
±50 mm.

Grout placement and spot welding of the locking nuts

At the corner and anchor towers, the grout under the base plate and the welding of the locking nuts must be carried out
after the cables have been clamped or anchored and after the Client has accepted the final verticality of the towers. The
contractor shall measure the transverse and longitudinal deviations of the heads of the posts or wire trestles from the
vertical and submit the values to the Contracting Authority for acceptance. It may happen that the Client

The locking nuts must be tightened firmly on the top nuts and then spot welded to the bolts according to the drawings.
After the weld points have been made, the damaged parts of the bolts and nuts must be coated with a layer of zinc-rich
paint in accordance with the article.

Repairs to the protective coating of key pylons

Damage to the protective lining of tubular towers must be repaired in the following ways:

a) When the damage is limited to the paint, the surface should first be lightly sanded so as not to damage the zinc
layer and then cleaned. Afterwards, two coats of epoxy paint are applied. Finally, a coat of polyurethane topcoat
is applied;

b) When the damage reaches the zinc layer, the surface must be sanded down to the metal and cleaned.
Subsequently, F contractor must dig and apply a layer of zinc coating.

6.2.3.5 Bolts, nuts and washers

The bolts used for the assembly of the tower elements as well as the rung bolts will be ordinary 6-point head and nut bolts
, hot-dip galvanized. The connecting bolts shall comply with the DIN EN ISO standards corresponding to DIN 267. The
nuts will comply with DIN EN ISO 4034 (DIN 555).

Grower washers and flat washers will comply with DIN 127 and DIN EN ISO 7091 (DIN 126) respectively.

The steel used for the hot fabrication of the bolts and nuts shall be grade A52 - 5.6 in accordance with DIN 267. However,
the bolts used as rungs can be made of A37 steel.

Hot-stamped bolt heads shall bear the manufacturer's mark and A52 marking, except for step bolts.

The lengths of the rods and the unthreaded part of the bolt rods will be such that the shear will be
transferred to the unthreaded parts of the rods: after placement t their end will slightly exceed the nut
(with a minimum of 2 threads).

All bolts, nuts, counter nuts, clamping washers and thickness washers will be screwed up taking into
account the inevitable losses on the jobsite.

6.2.3.6 Galvanisation

After machining, all steel elements will be hot-dip galvanized. The thickness of the layer will be a minimum of 610 gr/m2
for bars and 375 gr/m2 for bolts. The quality of the galvanization will comply with the NF EN ISO 1461 standard.

When the chords are so long that they cannot be galvanized in a single operation, all necessary precautions will be taken
to prevent warping. All holes will be free of any excess zinc after galvanizing. All equipment will be protected against the
phenomenon of efficiency during galvanizing. The zinc layer will be of a uniform thickness and applied in such a way
that it adheres to the surface of the steel.

DAO pour la construction de lignes 90 kV SPECIFICATION L0050 - SPECIFICATIONS DES PYLONES

The angle of the bent parts will be measured after galvanizing. Bolts, nuts, washers, nuts and similar parts
will be galvanized. The galvanization of these parts must be carried out in such a way as to avoid clogging
of the thread bottoms. After galvanizing, the thread of the rods cannot be reworked.

Rectification apres galvanisation

To prevent deterioration of the protective layer, plates and angles that have been warped during
galvanizing shall be ground by rolling or pressing and not by hammering or any other preceding. If, in the
opinion of the Client and the engineer, all necessary precautions have not been taken during fabrication or
galvanizing and this results in bending and/or warping of certain chords, the chords may be rejected.

Repair of galvanizing

The material on which the galvanized layer has been damaged can be galvanized again. However, if in the opinion of the
Client and the engineer, the damage is minor and local, the repair will be made by applying a layer of galvanized paint.

Any chords on which the zinc layer has been damaged after being galvanized a second time will be rejected. When a
repair of the zinc layer is permitted, the damaged surface will be cleaned by rubbing with a cloth soaked in mineral
alcohol followed by metal stirring.

After this last operation, the residues will be removed using a solvent and a layer of fast-setting zinc-based paint will be
applied.

6.2.3.7 Corrosion protection for pylons

After the fabrication has been fully completed, the steel poles must be galvanized by hot-dipping and quenching. Only
one dip per pole will be accredited. All hollow elements must be galvanized both inside and out. Galvanizing must be
carried out in accordance with ASTM A 123 or NF EN ISO 1461.

Depending on the case, bitumin protection can be added as an option at the level of the pole burial (more or less 0.3 m
from the burial)

6.2.4 Construction details

6.2.4.1 Bolts f

The tightening of the bolts will be carried out using torque wrenches which will be handed over to the Employer. After
tightening, two threads of the bolts should be visible. The washers used will be flat and grower washers.
*
All bolts under the pylon's anti-climb belt will be safety bolts.

6.2.4.2 Step Bolts

To allow for the maintenance of the towers and their accessories, each tower will be equipped with bolts and rungs that
will extend from 3 m above the ground to the top of the pole. These bolts, which are at least 15 cm in useful length, have
a diameter of 20 mm, and are of A37 steel quality, will be placed in a different position on each side of the chord, about
40 cm apart and spaced as evenly as possible.

In the event that, for reasons of delay or other reasons, the Manufacturer is required to use steels from stock, these will
only be used after having undergone tests to check the mechanical properties (elongation and fracture). However, the
determination of the phosphorus and sulphur contents of A37 steel would be made in all cases, regardless of the results of
the control tests. The costs of the tests will be borne by the Manufacturer. He will notify the Employer and the Engineer
of the date of these tests so that the latter may participate in them.

6.2.5.3 Prototype Assembly

Before the serial construction of a type of pylon, a prototype will be assembled at the south! in the factory, to be able to
see its perfect execution. The perfect concordance of the assemblies will be checked and no additional fittings not
indicated on the execution drawings will be allowed.

The assembly will be easy and must not cause any deformation of the framework as a whole or of any part of it.

After galvanizing and per shipping batch, at least two chords of each type will be joined together by means of definitive
bolts to ensure the correct match of the holes and to control the clearance between bolts and holes.

The prototype assembly will be conducted in the presence of the Employer and the engineer unless the Employer
expresses in writing his desire not to attend or not to be represented. To this end, the Builder shall notify the Employer
and the Engineer at least 30 calendar days prior to the planned date of assembly.

6.2.5.4 Full-scale testing

Prior to the mass production of the towers, a full-scale test shall be carried out at a specialized station on a tower of each
type, unless the Manufacturer can furnish an eertificate of similar tests carried out on identical towers. In any case, a full-
scale test will be required for an alignment pylon.

The pylon to be tested will be galvanized and identical to those provided for the foumiture.

Full-scale tests will be in accordance with IEC 60652.

Full-scale tests shall be conducted in the presence of the Employer and the Engineer, unless the Employer
expresses in writing his wish not to attend or be represented. To this end, the Constructed shall notify the
Employer and the Engineer at least 30 calendar days before the date envisaged for the commencement of
the tests.

The following requirements will be met for load testing on all towers.

• The chords of a tested tower shall be of the same class and quality of manufacture as those supplied
for the erection of the towers according to the specifications of the contract;

• The pylon being tested will not necessarily be equipped with accessories other than those intended
for the same type of pylon when it is used;

• The pylon shall be erected on a platform whose anchor points for the pylon shall be adequate in terms of strength
and rigidity to withstand without significant distortion and displacement the reactions of the pylon subjected to
loads. The chords of the towers will be connected to the anchors in the same manner as that used for the
foundation bases;

* In preparation for the tests, the Constructed will provide the Owner and the Ingenied with diagrams showing the
proposed methods for applying the various loads and measuring the deviations. Prior to testing, the Constructed
will calibrate the dynamometers and gauges.

The loads applied during the tests will be those calculated multiplied by a specified safety facted. Any combination of
these loads will be applied to prove the structure's ability to support them. Each prototype will withstand the loads applied
during testing for at least 5 minutes without defects, permanent deformations of any chords, accessories, bolts or part and
without deformations of bolt holes.

No release or adjustment of loads will be allowed during this five-minute period. If it is necessary to adjust the loads, the
five-minute period will begin after the adjustment has been made. All loads will be removed completely before those of
the following tests are applied.

During the tests, the loads corresponding to the conductors and ground ropes shall be applied to the fasteners provided for
these cables, while the loads equivalent to the wind forces on the pylon shall be applied conveniently. Friction losses in
the tackle will be taken into consideration in the application of the load tests.

In addition to the previous tests, the towers will be subjected to a destruction test consisting of increasing one or more of
the loads of a load case to be defined beyond the prescribed limit values until failure. The loads that caused the failure J
will be indicated in the test reports.

During full-scale tests, the deformations of the pylon ends will be measured by means of measuring instruments with a
reading of the pylon. The test loads will be measured by means of dynamometers and read on daniflu control representers.

The pylon test shall be considered positive if no permanent deformation is found as a result of the
various load tests. After the type test of the pylon, the steel characteristics of certain bars selected by the
Employer and the engineer and from the tested pylon will be checked. This verification includes the
determination of the elastic strength of the breaking load and the elongation at break.

After replacement of all pylon elements, taken for inspection or having suffered any permanent fracture
or deformation during the test and after replacement of the screws, nuts and washers, the pylon which
has suffered 100% of the limit load may be included in the foumiture and will be used in such a way as
to withstand only low loads subject to the approval of the Client and the engineer. The alignment pylon
used will not be included in the foumiture but can be delivered to the Client's training centre.

In the event that the full-scale tests reveal weak points for loads less than or equal to those normally foreseen, the
Manufacturer shall be required to remedy them immediately for the entire output.

The reinforcements as well as the additional tests proving the effectiveness of the reinforcements carried out will be the
responsibility of the Manufacturer.

8.2.2 Topographical work

8.2.2.1 Profile survey

The profile will be surveyed on the basis of the marking report approved by the authorities and on the basis of
the established site plan.

The longitudinal profile survey will be carried out accurately for all types of terrain: flat or uneven.

The permissible tolerances are as follows in centimetres (cm):

• In distance: Td = 0.4.VD
• At altitude : Tz = 0.2. VD
• Alignment: Ta = (D/500) + 3 (deviation between the respective peg and the actual alignment) (D =
distance in metres between the respective peg and the nearest tangle).

D expressed in meters (m) represents the length of the alignment under consideration.

The check of the longitudinal profile will be carried out by attaching to the U.T.M. (X, Y) ZIGN coordinate
system the polygon formed by the different vertices of the path of the projected line. Closing deviations
(distance, altitude, alignment) will not exceed the tolerances set above.

The situation of these triangulation markers is provided by the National Geographic Service
(S.G.N). The Constructor will have to make the connection paths at these points and check the
length of the alignments and the value of the measured angles.

The topographic survey shall be sufficiently accurate to permit the establishment of the
longitudinal profile of the centre of the line. A minimum of one point every 50 m will be lifted,
with the density of points being increased if required by the terrain (obstacles, rivers, change of
slope, etc.). The profile shall show any change in level of more than 300 mm along the profiles of
the trace.

When the route has a significant difference in level, more than 10% perpendicular to the axis of
the route, two additional profiles parallel to the route and located:

• 5 m from the axis if the slope is between 10% and 30%;

• 10 m from the axis if the slope is greater than 30%;

will be surveyed and dashed on the drawing of the main profile.

Railway and inland waterway crossing profiles will need to be surveyed in more detail, in order to be able to
draw up a large-scale crossing dossier for the administration concerned.

Unless otherwise specified, the scales to be adopted for the preparation of the
longitudinal profile plans are:

• 1/2500th for distances (horizontal axis);

■ 1/500th for heights (vertical axis).

Profile plans will provide information and guidance

• The length of the alignments, the names of the localities crossed, the
number of ranks;

• Existing and planned roads and paths with their direction, the P.K.
traversed and the administrative designation;

• Railway tracks and other rigid tracks for guided vehicles with the indication of the kinematic gauge, as
well as their direction, the exact P.K., the crossing tangle and the administrative designation;

• Existing or planned crossed power lines, their voltages, the number of cables and for existing lines:

- The ground level at the crossing point and the surrounding supports;

- The height at the crossing point and at the supports framing the lowest and highest rope with
temperature at the time of lifting;

- The angle of intersection with the projected line; .

• Telecommunication lines (same information as for power lines);

• For crossings of wooded areas, nature of species, current average height;
