Bulk Densities:

recalculated based on actual density of product conveyed.
All bins, handling equipment and supports will be designed according to the

Wind load:
Wind velocity has been based on 144 km/h.
According to the Egyptian code no. 201/2003 requirements are as follows:

1- Wind speed: 120-140 km/hr.
2- Wind pressure: (60-70) kg/m2, for all sites.
Earthquake load:
Earthquake loads shall be in accordance with the Egyptian Code for calculation of loads
and forces on structures and buildings – 2003.

Adjustments will be related to height and length of equipment which will be corrected and
adjusted according to final design drawings approved by GCSS.
Moreover all motor sizes will be recalculated and adjustments made in size to fulfill actual
needs including the 15% margin when operating with contractual capacities. Revised
specifications will be used for checking during commissioning.
However, the price will remain unchanged irrespectively of such changes upwards or
downwards. Prices are fixed for the entire duration of the contract.

The aeration grid system is made with underground distributing

trenches inside the silo foundation floor and designed for optimal air
distribution according to air quantity of aeration.
One independent system will be made at each side of the conveyor
tunnel to avoid having trenches across the tunnel top.
Each system has its own aeration fan directly connected.
The trenches are covered with multi-hole flat panels with 1,2 mm
holes made in profiled bended zinc plated steel panels designed to
withstand full grain pressure.
Panels are made in modular sections easy to kick together during
assembling, dimensions 400 mm wide and 8 units per each meter.
Top level of panels is even with silo floor enabling sweep auger to
operate smoothly.
146,65m² (approx. 18,2%) of floor area is covered with aeration

panels in each silo.
Cast-in frames, on which the aeration panels will rest, are local
supply
Accessories covering all 8 silo bins:

8 set of vertical ladders from ground to roof eave with safety
cage and rest platforms, one under cylinder door. Two ladders
for each silo row, one in each end
8 set of vertical ladders with body safety cage from catwalk to
eave with inspection platform.

The wheel pushes the screw to the material with sequential rotation by
the ratcheting movement of the first free wheel.
The second free wheel is used as reverse-lock.
This system guarantees a high grip on the silo floor, even when covered
with grains.

The Grain Storage Temperature Measuring Control system

is of type UNITEST® Protector provided with temperature
monitoring facilities according to size of silos
All equipment is of standard duty type for installation in silos

where severe load and environmental conditions are
present.
Sensors and Electronics

Thermistors are placed in hanging cables with PVC outer
sleeve and reinforced steel wire. An address PCB for sensor
inputs from 9 sensor cables is installed in individual
distribution boxes the top of the building.
PLC for controlling the fans (aeration fans) one output for
each silo.
Maximum protection of all electronics is provided in the
address card circuits and in the interface rack between the
personal computer and the address PCB’s.
Software and features
Standard basic software

The central monitoring unit is a standard personal computer
with colour monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. All
temperatures are recorded in a graphical windowing program
under MS Windows. Through calculation and analysing
facilities it is possible to monitor each temperature sensor

and here through display delta temperatures, alarm set

points for actual- and delta temperature.
Also trends for temperature development for the past 24
hours, 1, 2 or 4 weeks are standard features. All alarm
temperatures can be set individually or in groups. All records
are automatically saved on the hard disk and can be printed
at any time.
Aeration control.

with the possibility of selecting between automatic or manual
mode. In automatic mode, the system is capable of
controlling the Aeration Fans.
Level measurement function:

The unique level measurement function in the
Unitest@Protector program provide the customer with
two vital features; one indication of the grain level in the
bins - and secondly the feature avoid false alarms in
being displayed. Conventional systems also generate
alarms from the empty part of the bins but the
Unitest@Protector only generates alarms generated in the
grain with a delay of 15 min.

Weight indicator: The weight indicator type MT IND570 model desk with
automatic zero-point frequency control is a high-quality
instrument especially chosen for the use with MT digital load
cells, type PDX
The instrument functions as a control unit within the local
network and is continuously reading weighing data from each
load cell. All calibration and programming takes place via the
keyboard. In case of faults in connection with the load cells a
new value can be set directly from indicator. This can lead to a
great deal of savings as regards possible service and re-
verification.
