Statement of Purpose

I am Mukesh Shah, son of Mr. Sher Bahadur Shah and Mrs. Bimala Chand. I was born on 27 th March
2002 in Kohalpur, Banke. I completed my Secondary Education Examination (SEE) from Shree
Samabeshi Secondary School, Tilakpur, Banke in 2018 and secured 2.55 GPA. I completed my +2 from
Nasa National Secondary School, Tinkune, and Kathmandu and secured 2.67 CGPA in National
Examination Board (NEB) in 2020. After that, I got an overall score of 47 in my PTE

After completion of Grade 12, I immediately took three months hospitality training under a head chef at
Heaven Hills restaurant. After that, I was hired as an intern for 9 months where I improved my hospitality
skills with their proper guidance.

My family’s combined income is approximately Nrs. 56.92 lakh (65620 AUD) yearly. Also, we have
taken an educational loan worth Nrs. 40 lakh (52,191 AUD) from Prabhu Bank Limited for my study in
Australia. All supporting documents are attached within.

As I have my family and siblings living in Nepal, I will be returning back after completion of my course..

Moreover, as the eldest son of my parents I have the responsibility to look after them and be with them in
the time of need. Thus, I have to be here in Nepal after I grab all the education and qualification in
Australia. Also, I have a dream of establishing my own restaurant in Nepal which shall provide luxury
hospitality of oversea visitors while fusing it with the traditional cuisine of my nation.

After completion of my diploma study I will reach the level of chef with an estimate initial earning of
Nrs. 58,400 and after completion of my bachelor degree I will have a level of head chef with estimate
salary of Nrs.71,500 while having some more experience I can reach the level of Hotel manager and earn
around Nrs. 145,000. Furthermore, with the establishment of many 5-star hotels in my home country I
have enough opportunity to have a desirable career. Also, the opportunity for people with international
experience is more. …..Also, countries like Dubai provide hospitality opportunities to Nepalese people
where chefs can earn basic of estimate 5000 AED (Nrs. 177,667.54) while at higher level the earning
raises significantly whereas hotel manager can earn around 7300 AED (Nrs. 259,394.61) which will
provide means to recoup my educational investment.

My main reason to choose Australia as a major destination to study hospitality and cookery course is due
to similarity it holds with my nation. As Nepal is tourism oriented nation and Australia is one of the
leading nation to provide international hospitality to its guests. I am sure that coming there will help me
gain more exposure than any other nation. Moreover, the advance learning technique and tools provided
over there is an added bonus.
