Norwegian Cruise Line responds to sharp increase in solo travel

Norwegian Cruise Line introduces nearly 1,000 single occupancy staterooms on their luxury
fleet
(MIAMI, March 4, 2024) – Norwegian Cruise Line ships now feature almost 1,000 luxury cabins
designed specifically for solo travelers. Following the project’s January 2024 institution,
unaccompanied guests can rent a single room for less than $2,000.

The expansion is a part of an ongoing effort to satisfy the growing demand for solo accommodation.
Online searches for “solo travel” have increased 267% since December 2020, according to a study by
Radical Storage. Making up nearly 20% of global tourist bookings, NCL recognizes that solo travel is an
important part of this cruise industry. “We strive to provide our guests with diverse offerings to create
their dream vacation,” said NCL president David Herrera, “We are continuously listening to our guests to
deliver the experience they want.”

Solo stateroom guests will also have access to the exclusive Studio Lounge, which offers relaxation and
refreshment. The lounge will also host various “mix and mingle” events such as trivia night, singles night,
casino night, and more.

Three room types will be available to single travelers: Solo Inside, Solo Balcony and Solo Oceanview.
Solo travelers looking for a luxury vacation to one of many landmark destinations should consider
booking a cruise with NCL.
