Cruise Press Release 1
Cruise Press Release 1
11, 2023
Miami, Florida, October, 2023, This announcement stems from the surge in the number of single
travelers. According to a study by Travelport, solo travel made up nearly 18% of global bookings in the
travel industry. And from 2019 to 2022, Norwegian saw an increase in guests booking accommodations as
a single occupant in non-studio staterooms. There will be nearly 1,000 cabins incorporated across their
19-ship fleet, which will be available for booking on Jan. 2, 2024. Pricing will vary depending on
destination and demand, but guests can expect to pay less than they would for a typical two-person room.
David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line, stated in an interview, “We strive to provide our
guests with diverse offerings to create their dream vacation. After realizing the growing demand of
individuals looking to travel on their own, we have now expanded single occupancy staterooms across our
fleet.”
Norwegian plans to offer a variety of cabins around the ship that include Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview,
and Solo Balcony to give travelers more options. The purchase of one of these solo staterooms grants
guests access to the Studio Lounge, which is key card access only and features a space for relaxation as
well as a bar serving specialty drinks and snacks. Norwegian is also incorporating activities and
excursions geared towards solo travelers so that guests can intermingle with each other if they so choose.
This new development by Norwegian opens doors for solo travelers to experience bucket-list destinations
in comfort. For more information on booking, pricing, or the new staterooms, visit their website
