NSTP Narrative Report

-Annie Grace A Frades

The University of Perpetual recently held its annual campus clean-up drive, a
collaborative effort between the university itself and NSTP teachers, including Ma'am Joylene
Mina, Ma'am April Kruk, and Sir Willy Mamba, who oversaw attendance. Prominent professors
and administrators also played leading roles in organizing the initiative. To ensure efficient
cleaning, the campus was divided into zones, with student groups assigned specific areas to focus
on.
As a proud student of the University of Perpetual, I was thrilled to participate in the
recent clean-up drive, where students from all faculties came together with a shared objective of
maintaining cleanliness on our cherished campus. My group of classmates was tasked with
cleaning the area adjacent to the abandoned resort, a part of the campus I had never explored
before. Equipped with brooms, gloves, and cleaning supplies like walis ting ting, sako, and even
matchsticks to burn dry leaves, we began our clean-up around 9 a.m. It was evident that this
would be no easy task, given the extent of litter strewn across the campus.
I was genuinely shocked when we received our assignment because the area was in
complete disarray. The decorative stones around the trees were shattered and cracked, far from
their intended design. Nonetheless, we worked diligently, fostering a team spirit that made the
task more manageable. We emptied overflowing trash bins, swept the entire area, and gathered
all waste materials in trash bags. During the clean-up, we encountered unexpected challenges.
Some passing students carelessly discarded their siomai wrappers on the ground, undermining
our progress.
Additionally, cans and bottles were scattered in various places, making it difficult to
collect all the litter. Nevertheless, we persisted, and within a few hours, we had made a
significant impact on the cleanliness of our campus. The clean-up drive was undoubtedly a
success, pleasing the university administration, teachers, and other members of the school's
higher committee.
Witnessing students, faculty members, and administrators come together to achieve a
common goal was heartwarming. The smiles on everyone's faces were a testament to the
difference we had made in creating a cleaner and healthier environment on our campus. I extend
my gratitude to the University of Perpetual for organizing this exceptional initiative and for
encouraging student participation in maintaining a clean and green environment. I eagerly
anticipate the next clean-up drive, where I will have the opportunity to collaborate with fellow
students once again, further enhancing the quality of our campus as a conducive place for
learning.
