ACTIVITY 2
REYNERA, MICHAL T. BSCE3B
1. In your community, take photos of columns, beams and slabs of different designs and give
descriptions for each.

One-way slab is supported by two parallel
walls or beams.
Two-way slabs are slabs that are supported
on all four sides. In this slab, the load will be
transferred in both directions, thus main
reinforcement is provided in both directions
for slabs.

Cantilever Beam
- a projecting beam fixed only at one end.
Two-Way Beam
-Supported by beams on all four sides,
carrying the load along both directions.

Circular column
-Circular columns are mostly used in piling
and elevation of the buildings for aesthetic
purposes

Two-Way Flat Plate

-a two-way system usually supported directly on columns or load-bearing walls
