When Boyle’s Law and Charles’ Law are considered together, the resulting principle is called
Combined Gas Law. It states that “for a given mass of gas, the volume is inversely proportional to
the pressure and directly proportional to its absolute temperature.
Combined Gas Law equation is derived from Boyle’s Law and Charles’ Law equations. The equation
for Combined Gas Law is:

Answer this problems in a one whole sheet of paper:
1. Helium gas has a volume of 350 mL at 0°C at 1.0 atm. What will be the final pressure if the volume is
reduced to 100 mL at 45°C?
2. The volume of a gas at 27°C and 700 mmHg is 500 mL. What is the volume of the gas at -20.0°C and
500 mmHg?
3. A 3.5 L of nitrogen gas exerts a pressure of 760 mmHg at 473K. What temperature is needed to reduce
the volume to 1.75L at 1140 torr?
4. A certain amount of gas has a volume of 85 cm3 at a temperature of 15°C and a pressure of 800 torr.
Calculate its temperature, in kelvin, if the volume increased to 120 cm3 and the pressure is changed to
700 torr?
5. A gas has a volume of 38 L at 10°C and a pressure of 1.24 atm. At what pressure will its volume be
50 L if the temperature is increased to 25°C?
