Today I was with Annalee, and it was pretty slow, she’s still new so she doesn’t have as many

patients as Brooke would. I like that I am able to be with different people throughout the week,

because I get to observe patient interactions and how to handle certain situations. I have noticed

that Annalee goes and asks Brooke and Cam for their opinions on certain patients if she isn’t

sure which is a good thing. There was a patient today that was trying to figure out what

medication to prescribe him so she went and asked Cam for his opinion on what she should do

and he was more than willing to help her. We didn’t have anything that I haven't seen yet, just a

couple of biopsies and freezing some pre cancerous spots, skin tags and Seborrheic keratosis.

Today I was with Brooke and it was a steady day but it got busier in the afternoon. We had a few

patients get botox today which is cool to watch because when it’s done in the forehead, you hear

little popping noises. There was a 3 year old girl who came in that is currently on Dupixent

injections for eczema. She was wild, jumping all over her mom and yelling but Brooke was able

to focus on her mom. I know I’m gonna have to deal with hyper kids like that in the future so it’s

good that I’m experiencing that now. There was also a patient who had a skin tag on his groin

area that he wanted removed and instead of just moving his boxers to the side like Brooke asked

he decided to just drop them which was very unexpected but we handled it well.

Today I am in the Macon office and Brooke is here but I asked to be with Christine today so I

didn’t have to sit on a stool all day so they put me at the front desk. Being in this type of work

environment and getting to see all the conditions the patients are in or if they get a funny mole

removed has kind of made me a little anxious since being here. Mostly because I am keeping an

eye out for spots on my skin as well as my families. Yesterday I found a new mole on my side

that I never noticed before so I’m going to have Christine check it out because it’s way darker

than all my other moles and I’ve learned while being here that that's what you want to keep an

eye out for. We then saw an older man with a cutaneous horn on his cheek, which in most cases

is cancerous so she removed that. Before lunch we had a patient who came in for a patch test

evaluation because she had been experiencing some itchy skin and scalp. She usually takes

allegra but you aren't supposed to take any antihistamines because it can tamper with the results

of any reaction she gets from the patch test. However she was given some wrong information by

the last Dr she saw and kept taking her allegra so nothing came up on the patch test. So Christine

told her to stop taking the allegra until this weekend because for patch tests you have to go to 2

evaluations.

Today I was at the Gray office and it’s been really slow since we had a few patients cancel their

appointments. We had a mother and daughter come in to get some moles removed and the

mother had to get 3 removed from her face and 1 removed from her chest, and she almost passed

out so we had to take a moment and fan her until she felt like she could stand. Then we had a

couple patients come in for an accutane check up or to check to see if a spot is okay. It is pretty

crazy to me the amount of patients that come into their appointments with toenail fungus and

don’t even say anything about it. Especially since if it’s left untreated, it can spread. We had a

patient come in today that had it really bad on all of his toenails so Christine asked him if they

bother him and he said a little so she prescribed him a topical solution that he can put on his

nails. Usually if it’s a bad case they would rather prescribe a systemic drug since it would

respond quicker, but you have to have your liver checked since it's processed through the liver.

However, this patient already had problems with his liver so that's why she prescribed him a

solution to paint on the nail. One of our last patients was a patient that I've seen 3 times now. He

has a piece of hardware in his back that he's having an allergic reaction to so he needs to get

surgery to get it out, however the surgeons won’t operate on him until the rash is cleared. So

Christine decided to put him on dupixent which is mainly for eczema, but it will help with

whatever allergic reaction he's having on his skin.

Today has been pretty slow for us to be in the macon office. We had a couple patients come in

with eczema to get refills on their prescriptions or injections. There was a little baby girl who

came in for an allergic reaction she’s having to something. They tried to take her to an allergist

to get tested but they refused to test her because her skin was in such bad condition. So she was

brought in today to get a shot of dupixent to help bring down the rash on her skin. During lunch

we went across the street to the hospital to visit one of the medical assistants on our team

because she had to leave early yesterday due to severe stomach pain. And then later in the day.

Christine got a call that she was in the emergency room with gallstones and a cyst on each of her

kidneys.
