C. Relating examples to Read the text “Man: The Unique Creation” inLearner's Module. After reading, group the class into
new fours and create a presentation of the topic to be discussed and prepare to share.(do in 5 minutes)(
lesson Collaborative Approach)

Group 1: Human: Unique creature

There are three types of living creatures in the world: the plant, the animal and
a person. Just like a plant, a person needs to be cared for in order to grow, act and

30
increased. He gets enough nutrients to support himself. Like animals, humans have feelings so
they get hurt, maybe because of neglect or torture. He is afraid of the calamity or the impact of
the event that is not
expected He gets angry when he is treated wrongly but calms down whenever he is shown care.
But man can do more than these because man was created according to the "image of God", that
is why man is called his masterpiece.

Group 2: Man has Three Essential Elements.

Each individual is blessed with different abilities that make him great. These
characteristics make him stand out, the only human characteristic that sets him apart from the
rest of creation. According to Dr. Manuel Dy Jr., man has three essential components: the mind,
the heart and the hand or body.
- -Mind. The mind is the ability to think, to know the essence and essence of something. It has
the power to judge, reason, analyze, remember and understand the meaning of things.
Hence the mind is called intelligence (intellect), justification (reason), intellectual awareness (
intellectual consciousness),conscience (conscience) and intellectual memory (intellectual
memory) based on its use in each instance. heartIt is a small part of the body that wraps the
- entire human being. It feels everything that happens in our life. This is where the decision and
emotion come from. A person's personality is shaped in the heart. All the evil and goodness of
man is hidden here.

-----------Hand or body. The hand or the body symbolizes sensing, grasping, moving, doing and
speaking (oral or writing). It is usually used to carry out an action or deed. It is not enough
that a person can separate the different parts of his body, what is important is that he
understands what they are used for. The body is an important part of the personality, because
it is used to express the content of the mind and heart in a concrete way. Through the body,
manifest

31
of man is what happens in his will. It is also the instrument for communicating with our
neighbors.

Group 3: Uses and Purposes of Mind and Action.

Man is like God because of his ability to know and decide freely. His reasoning power is
called mind. The power to choose, decide and carry out the choice is called action-inside.
Through the mind, man seeks truth; so he continues to research to understand and act
accordingly to the deficiency. So the mind's search for truth never ends; truth is the goal of the
mind. On the other hand, the attitude as described by Santo Tomas de Aquino is a rational
liking (rational appetite), because it is similar (faculty) which is attracted to the good and turns
away from the bad. Therefore, the goal of inner behavior is goodness. The heart is not drawn
to evil; it will never like the evil itself. Choosing evil only takes place if it is wrapped in good and
looks good and attractive. Intuition relies on information provided by the mind. The mind
influences the action, because it does not desire or will something it does not know or
understand. It is also what gives people the power to make and choose, so the inner action is
the root of responsible action. By instinct, man can choose to do good. But not all good things
are of the same kind. It is up to the person to research and know which is better so that it is his
choice to do. Therefore the mind and actions, like the body, need to be trained and cultivated
so that they can fulfill their respective purposes. Otherwise, they can be misused to hinder the
attainment of human fulfillment.

Group 4: Everyone Has a Duty to Train, Develop and Perfect the

Mind and Behavior.

32
Each person has a duty to train, develop and perfect the
mind and heart. It is important to take care of them so as not to destroy the true purpose why
they were given to man. It is expected that man develops his mind and inner behavior at the
same time. While he discovers a lot of knowledge and wisdom through study or research, it is
also expected that his personality shows the responsible use of them. Thus, he will be more of
a good being with a good attitude. Intelligence is not measured by the amount of knowledge
and the height of what is studied, but how knowledge is used to devote oneself to the
development of one's personality, service to others and participation or service in the
community. Man is unique because of the ability of the mind and inner actions to act
according to his nature to be human. It is necessary to use the mind to gather knowledge and
wisdom in order to understand the inner act of doing good towards the development of
personality.
