Among the basic concepts described in the preceding theories, I think

the Theory of Psychologist in Cognitive Construct by Erik Erickson is the one

that applies to me the most. Why? Simply, because it describes a kind of
accurate information on the progress of life. Another one is because I can
relate the growth of my life to some of the eight basic development stages.
How can I say so? Because from the day of my birth until now, I know that I’ve
experienced some of these developments identified. From the period of being
an infant, those people who has shown me the most genuine affection are the
one whom I trust the most. To the period of being a child, when I ever feel I’m
overprotected, I can feel a bit of shame and up until now, I still develop
initiative, independence, curiosity, sense of identity, feeling of sympathy and
so on.

Also, my study of the different theories of the self brought me to some

realization that in this life of ours, it is not always about our own selves, it is
not always about us. We must not just depend on our own knowledge, that we
must also think of the people around us; our family, friends, neighbors and
above all, God.

The lesson shows the important and useful factors about ourselves and
it’s development, that it provides us additional knowledge that we need and
will help us to certainly understand ourselves and it’s continuous
development. And so in return, we must also genuinely understand this lesson
so that we can contribute in the development of it. So it’s like give and take.
