Laboratory Exercise #1
IMPORTANCE OF FERTILIZER APPLICATION IN SOIL FERTILITY
MANAGEMENT

I. INTRODUCTION

Soil fertility management is among the important factors affecting potential crop
yield. Therefore, acquiring knowledge and skills on maintaining or improving soil
fertility is necessary to be able to optimize the utilization of soils even those in marginal
areas. Fertilizing wisely can increase yield, quality, and profits.

II. OBJECTIVE
At the end of this laboratory activity, the student must have:
a. Identified the different fertilizers available in the market; and
b. Demonstrated the step-by-step procedure of making organic fertilizer.

III. PROCEDURE
ACTIVITY 1A: INORGANIC FERTILIZER

1. Identify and write down at least three (3) different nitrogen, phosphorus, and
potassium-carrying fertilizers. (9 points)
