ACTIVITY 5: In or Out? The Ninth Ray Proposal

WHAT IS YOUR STAND ON THE PROPOSED NINTH RAY?

Based on my own understanding, in the Ninth Ray Bill it is symbolized the Muslims who
defeated the country against the Spaniards. The fellow senator and Chiz Escudero supported the
proposal. Senator Manny Pacquaio filed a senate Bill No. 1984 renewing said propositions of
adding additional ray at the present Philippines Flag to pay tribute to the Muslims heroes, but for
me it is no easy to add another ray to Philippine Flag because we used these flag many years and
this is the that we always raise and being showed to other country that we are Pinoy. I am not
against on what Senator Manny Pacquiao said because it is also need to recognize those people
who fought against Spanish colonization. As a Filipino living here in this country I don’t want to
see that there is any changes in our Philippine Flag because seeing that make me feel that we
own this country and we are proud that we are Filipino, even though we are having a lot of
problems in life but still we proved to those people that we are strong. It is good that those
people who fought here in our country need to recognize because they are our hero protecting the
Philippines for those people doesn’t had a good intention.
