Health education is essential tool of
community health. Every branch of
community health has a health educational
aspect and community health worker is health
educator the object of health education is to
.influence people
People use different words when talking about
.teaching and learning
Sometimes the same word mean different
things to different people and sometimes
.different words will carry the same meaning
""For example
 Educator ' teacher ' trainer ' tutor '
lecturer' facilitator.
 Student' pupil' learner' scholar.

The difference between learning and teaching :-
TEACHING:-
is giving lessons about a particular subject to a group
of learners.
LEARNING:-
Is gaining knowledge by studying, being taught and
experiencing.
Many will assume that teaching is more important
than learning, the truth is, learning is more important
because it’s the end goal of teaching.
Students can learn without teachers, but teachers can't
teach without learners.
TYPES OF LEARNING :-
 According to acquired knowledge.
 According to number of individuals.
 According to types of activities.
Learning can be formal or informal.

We learn informally form what we experience day by
day: things which happen to use make us change the
way we think.
Learning formal: we attend a course which is planned
in a structured way, in a school or college.
Role of the teacher
Generally, the role of teacher can be categorized into:
1) Traditional role – teacher centered.
2) Modern role – facilitator ( student centered)

There has been a change from the traditional role to


the modern role in the present context.

The learning increases when the teacher builds on


the previous experience of the student.

Individuals learning differ and each individual


learns at his\her own pace.

Identifying the slow learners and individual


attention of the teacher may be required.

(2) Develop reciprocity and cooperation among


students.

(4) Give prompt feedback.

(5) Emphasize time on task.
