B. Motivation/Review
Review the previous lesson.

Ask students what are the triangle congruence postulates being tackled in
previous lessons.

Then, the teacher will introduce to students the following Congruence


Theorem:
Leg-Leg Congruence Theorem
Leg-Angle Congruence Theorem
Hypotenuse-Angle Congruence Theorem
Hypotenuse-Leg Congruence Theorem
Then, provide one triangle that represents Leg-Leg Congruence Theorem
and ask students what theorem that the provided triangle will satisfy.

C. Presentation
The teacher will present and introduce the topic.

A triangle with a right angle is called a right triangle. In any right


triangle, the side opposite the right angle is called hypotenuse. The two
other sides that intersect at the vertex of the right angle are called legs.
D. Discussion/Abstraction
LL (leg-leg) Congruence Theorem. If the legs of one right triangle are
congruent to the legs of another right triangle, then the triangles are
congruent.

Illustrative Example:
Consider now the figures at the right.

Given:
JL ≅ MO∧KL ≅ NO

Prove:
∆ JKL ≅ ∆ MNO

Statement Reason

By LL Congruence Theorem, we have two right triangles

LA (Leg-Angle) Congruence Theorem. If a leg and an acute angle of


one right triangle are congruent to a leg and an acute angle of another right
triangle, then the triangles are congruent.

Illustrative Example 2:
Consider the two right triangles.

Given:
T U ≅ YZ and
∠S≅∠X
Prove:
∆ STU ≅ ∆ XYZ

Statement Reason

E. Application/Exercises
Group the class into 6 groups. Assign each group what illustration to be
answered. Let them answer the given illustration using two column
proof and identify what theorem was it.

∆ ABC ≅ ∆ XYZ

Then, Ask for any clarification.
H. Evaluation
Answer in 5 minutes using two column proof and let them identify
whether it’s Leg-Leg or Leg-Angle Congruence Postulate. ½ crosswise.
