I. Learning objectives
Towards the end of the lesson, at least 75% of the students should be able to
achieve the following objectives with at least 80% proficiency level:
Define congruent triangles
Illustrate congruent triangles
Show unity in group activities
III. Procedures:
A. Preliminary Activities
Greetings
Attendance
Review
The class will be group with 6 members in each group.
Each group will answer the activity in two minutes.
There are scrambled words given related to triangle. They
are going to unscramble the words and put the answer in
their paper.
1. DIES (side)
2. VEXRET (vertex)
3. ANGEL (angle)
4. TENGUROC (congruent)
5. CRROESPOND (correspond)]
a. Activity
The same group will be given triangles and they will find the pairs of
each of the triangle.
ACTIVITY
Instructions: Find the pair of each of the triangle and answer the
question that follows.
1. What can you say about the shape of the paired triangles?
2. What can you say about the size of the paired triangles?
b. Analysis
How did you pair the triangles?
Did the two triangles have the same size?
Are the two triangles congruent?
Do they have congruent sides and angles?
How many congruent sides and congruent angles were there?
c. Abstraction
From the activity you had, when can you say that two triangles are
congruent?
Two triangles are congruent if they have the same three sides and
exactly the same three angles. The equal sides and angles may not
be in the same position (if there is a turn or a flip), but they are there.
d. Application (Boardwork)
Instructions: Refer to the figure and give the congruent corresponding parts of
the triangle ABD and triangle DCB.
IV. Assessment:
Instructions: In a ½ crosswise, answer the following:
1. When can you say that two triangles are congruent?
2. If two triangles are congruent, how many corresponding parts are there?
3. Give the congruent corresponding parts of the figure below and put identical
markings of the identical parts.
V. Assignment:
