III. PROCEDURE

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY LEARNER’S ACTIVITY

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES

a. Prayer

Please stand and let us feel the presence of the Dexter: In the name of the Father…Thank
Lord. Dexter, kindly lead the prayer. You, Lord for the hundredfold blessings. Help
us to divide our God-given skills by
multiplying love and respect. In our hearts,
and joys and ideas and subtract wrongdoings
and grudges. Amen.
b. Greetings

Good morning class! Good morning, ma’am! God loves us!

c. Setting of Standards
Ok class, before you sit down, kindly arrange your
chairs pick up the scattered paper and other
garbage under your chairs.
Are you done? Yes ma’am

Please be seated.

d. Checking of Attendance

So, is everybody here? Yes ma’am.

Wow! Ver good1 Give yourself a round of (Clapping their hands)

applause for a perfect attendance.
How are you today?
That’s good to hear!
Varied response
B. Review

Before we proceed to our new lesson, let us

have a recap on our past lesson.

So, who among you can still remember our

last lesson?

Yes Ivy?

So, what is Ratio and Proportion? Our last topic is all about Ratio and Proportion
ma’am.
Yes John Albert?

John Albert: Ratio is the comparison between

Very good let’s give 5 claps to them. numbers or quantities while a proportion is an
equation that shows two ratios are equal.

To see if you really understand our lesson

yesterday, kindly bring out your assignments and
let us check.
(The students bring out their assignment and
they check it).
C. MOTIVATION

Before we proceed to our new lesson, let us have a short

activity, called MATCH IN HEAVEN!

Direction: You need to get 1 picture, then look for its

similar.
Ma’am, the pictures are the same

Ma’am they are not the same in size

From our activity what did you observe?

Ok, very good that’s correct,

What else did you observe?

Very good, your answers are both correct.

Let’s give ang galing galing niyo clap.

D. PRESENTATION
Our activity leads us to our next topic which is the
Similarity of Triangle. At the end of the day, you should
be able to define similar triangles, state, illustrate, and
explain the conditions for similarity of triangles, and
proves the conditions of similarity of triangles on SAS
Similarity Theorem, SSS Similarity Theorem and AA
Similarity Theorem.

E. DISCUSSION

Triangle Similarity are triangles that have the

same shape, but their sizes may vary. All equilateral
triangles, squares of any side length are examples of
similar objects. In other words, if two triangles are similar,
then their corresponding angles are congruent and
corresponding sides are equal proportion. We denote that
the similarity of triangles here by ‘̴’ symbol.
Yes ma’am.

None ma’am

F. APPLICATION

Class did you understand our lesson?

Is there any clarification or question from the class?

Since you don’t have, questions let’s practice to solve this

given problem. Read and understand the direction
carefully.

2. VERTICAL ANGLES ARE CONGRUENT
3. DAM≅ FAN

2.

1. AB̅̅̅̅ ∥ 𝐷𝐸̅̅̅̅
2. ∠ A ≅ ∠ E

4. AA SIMILARITY THEOREM

Yes ma’am

None ma’am

Our lesson today is all about Similarity of

Triangle.

Two triangles are similar if and only if the

corresponding angles are congruent and the
G. GENERALIZATION corresponding sides are proportional.

Did you understand our lesson class?

Is there any questions or clarifications?
Again, what is our lesson?

And what does it imply?

SSS Similarity Theorem

Okay if you don’t have any question, I assumed that you

really understand our lesson. Bring 1/4 sheet of paper and Similar Triangles
answer this in 2 minutes.
DIRECTION: Read and analyze each sentence. Fill in the AA Similar Theorem
blanks the correct answer.
______1. If the corresponding sides of the two triangles
are proportional then the two angles are similar.
SAS Similarity Theorem
______2. Triangles are similar if and only if their
corresponding angles are congruent and their
corresponding sides are proportional.
______3. If two angles of a triangles are congruent to the
two angles of the second triangle respectively, then the They have different qualities ma’am.
two angles are similar. They have different design ma’am.
______4. If two pairs of corresponding sides of two
triangles are proportional and the included angles are
congruent then the two triangles are similar.
H. VALUE INTEGRATION

Class, look around you. Can you see various

images of triangles? What can you say about that triangle?
Yes, you are all correct. Even though triangles may have
different appearance and styles, they are still triangles that
demonstrate the beauty around us.
Just like us, we may have different upbringings but we are
all human with a heart, made from own image of our
creator that we have to value, respect and embrace each
other’s differences.
IV. EVALUATION

I hope you’ve learned a lot from this session. Bring out ½ sheet of paper. Try to answer this
one in 5 minutes.

V. ASSIGNMENT

In your assignment notebook, write the definition of right triangle and

its parts. Identify and name similar triangles. Study on how to solve the length
of an altitude or leg using the geometric mean. Pass it next meeting.
