C. Motivation
Activity 2: Find Me!
Directions: Find all the words inside the
puzzle, encirle the words that you find. Answer:
What words did you find? Ma'am, supplementary, diagonals,
Jessabel. triagnle, bisect ang angles.

Correct, very good!

D. Analysis

Did you enjoy our activity?

Yes, Ma’am, we enjoy it!

From the activity earlier, what do you

think is our topic today?

Yes, Ashley? Ma’am, from the activity, I think our topic

for today about supplementary.

Good idea!

Another, idea? Ma’am, I think the diagonals that bisect

each other.

Good idea class! Give yourself five (5) (students do the command)
claps.

Alright. Our topic for today, is related to

your answer. This is a continuation of
what we have discussed yesterday.
Today, we are going to discuss the three
properties of a parallelogram.

E. Abstraction
Before we proceed to our discussion,
let’s all read first our objectives.

At the end of the discussion you are

expected to:
a. identify quadrilaterals that
are parallelograms
b. explain how consecutive
angles and diagonals
determine a quadrilateral
is a parallelogram
c. show the properties of
parallelogram;
d. relate the importance of
parallelogram in real life
sitution.
At the end of our discussion you are
expected to attain this learning
objectives.

Today, were going to explore the

another three properties of the
parallelogram.

At this moment, I will present you the

three different properties of a
parallelogram.

Property No. 3
In a parallelogram, any two consecutive
angles are supplementary.

Example:
Given ABCD, if
𝑚∠𝐴 + 𝑚∠𝐵 = 180°
𝑚∠𝐵 + 𝑚∠𝐶 = 180°
then ABCD is a parallelogram.

Is ∠𝐶 and ∠𝐷, supplementary?

Sherlene. Yes ma'am.

Why do you think it is supplementary? Because 𝑚∠𝐶 + 𝑚∠𝐷 = 180°

What is the answer in 𝑚∠𝐷 + 𝑚∠𝐴 = ?

Joseph. 180° ma'am.

Is rectangular ABCD a parallelogram? Yes ma'am. Because two consecutives
Why? are supplementary.

Again, what is property no.3? Property No. 3, in a parallelogram, any

two consecutive angles are
supplementary.
Let's move to property no. 4.

Property No. 4
The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect
each other.

Example:

What did you observe at the given

figure?
Mark. Rectangular ABCD with diagonals AC
and BD intersect at point.

Exactly!

How can you say that ABCD is a

parallelogram? Line segment AE is congruent to line
segment CE and line segment BE is
congruent to line segment DE.
Very Good!

Again, what is property no. 4?

Property No. 4. The diagonals of a
parallelogram bisect each other
So we are going discuss the last
property.

Property No. 5
A diagonal of a parallelogram forms two
congruent triangles.
What did you observe at the given
figure? The given figure is parallelogram
Jastine. because Δ𝐵𝐴𝐶 ≅∆𝐷𝐶𝐴 and
Δ𝐵𝐴𝐷 ≅ ∆𝐷𝐶𝐵.

Very Good!
Another idea? Maam there are two triangles forms in
each figure.
Exactly!

What is the property no.5 of a Property No. 5, a diagonal of a

parallelogram? parallelogram forms two congruent
triangles.
Do you understand the 3 properties of a
Yes Ma'am.
parallelogram?

What are the 3 properties of a

parallelogram that we have discussed
today?
Michaella. Property No. 3, in a parallelogram, any
two consecutive angles are
supplementary.
Joy. Property No. 4, the diagonals of a
parallelogram bisect each other.

Nicole. Property No. 5, a diagonal of a

parallelogram forms two congruent
triangles.
Brilliant! (students do the command)
Let's give them a very good clap!

F. Application
DRAW ME!
Direction: Group yourself into four
groups. Draw something that catch your
interest, your drawing must show any of
the properties of a parallelogram.

For example :

Okay class, present you work infront. Group 1 presents their work.
Group 2 presents their work.
Thank you, for a job well done class. Group 3 presents their work.
Group 4 presents their work.
(students do the command)

By that reward yourself a, McDo clap!

G. Generalization

Okay class, what are the 3 properties of

a parallegoram?
The 3 properties that we have discussed
Jessy.
today are: Property No. 3, in a
parallelogram, any two consecutive
angles are supplementary.

Property No. 4, the diagonals of a

parallelogram bisect each other.

Property No. 5, a diagonal of a

parallelogram forms two congruent
triangles.
(student do the command)
Correct!
Let's give Jessy a very good clap.

How consecutive angles and diagonals

determine a quadrilateral is a
parallelogram?
Krisha.
If the consecutive angles are congruent
and diagonals bisect each other, then
Exactly!
the quadrilateral is a parallelogram.
Let's give Krisha a brilliant clap.
(students do the command)

How can you identify whether a

quadrilateral is a parallelogram?
In a parallelogram, any two consecutive
