B. Review
What was our past lesson?
Yes, (Student A) Ma’am, our topic last time was about the
Midline Theorem.
Very good, (Student A)
What are the midline theorems states?
Yes, (Student B) Ma’am, the midline theorems states that the
segment whose endpoints are the midpoints of
two sides of a triangle is parallel to and half
Thank you (Student B), Your answer as long as the third side.
is correct.

Class, there will be properties that will

presentation, if that property is

Are we clear? Yes, ma’am

into two congruent triangles.

Very Good!

C. Motivation

Now, we are going to have a game

called “Deal or No Deal”
Are you familiar with that game class?

Let’s assume that we are in the final

round. I have three briefcases here.
You are going to choose one briefcase
among them and try to answer the
given problem. The one who gets the
correct answer will receive a prize Yes, Ma’am.
from me. Is that clear?

Okey let’s start.

Final round

Who wants to volunteer? I will choose number 2 briefcase, ma’am

Yes (Student c)

“Ana’s height is 150 cm, while kevin

is 163 cm and 155cm is keith height, Ma’am it will be Keith
who will be in the center if they will
be arrange by height”
I will choose briefcase number 1, ma’am
Very good
Another Volunteer?
Yes, (student D)
Ma’am the average is 96
“Miya got 96 in her science class, 98
in English and 94 in mathematics.
What will be the average of her three
subject”?

Very Good (Student D)

Let’s open the last briefcase,
What do you think the same in these
pictures?

Ma’am trapezoid, and median.

D. Presentation of the Lesson

Based on the game, what do you think
is our lesson for today?

Very Good observation class. Our

topic for this day is about midsegment
of a trapezoid.

E. Lesson Proper (with activities)

Trapezoid is a quadrilateral with exactly one
pair of parallel sides.
and that parallel sides are called bases.
While the non-parallel sides are called
legs

The base angles of a trapezoid are

consecutive angles whose common
side is a base of the trapezoid
Trapezoids have two pairs of base
angles, which are the upper base angle
and lower base angle.

Now class, can you name the legs on

this trapezoid WARM
(check the ppt )
Very Good class.

Now let’s move forward to midline

theorem of Trapezoid.

The midline theorem of trapezoid

suggests that the segment connecting
the midpoints of the two legs of a (Student our getting a paper)
trapezoid is parallel to the bases, and
its length is equal to half the sum of
lengths of the bases.

Okey class let’s prove it first using

paper cu out. Get a piece of paper

(refer to the ppt)

Cut the sides of your paper, to make it

look like a trapezoid, the measure of
legs can be unidentical
Yes, ma’am
Next Fold it crosswise.
Rectangle ma’am
Ask you can see there is excess flap,
lets fold it inward, can you follow Ma’am the opposite sides of rectangle are
class? parallel and congruent to each other

Okey, now what shape did it turn out?

What does the property of rectangle

states?
By paper cut out we have proved that.
Trapezoid is parallel to the bases, and
its length is equal to half the sum of
lengths of the bases.

Now, let’s proceed to two columns

proofing
(refer to the ppt)

For conclusion, when we have figure

number, we can have the formula None, ma’am
M = (upper base + lower base)
2
Where:
m is the median
Do you have any questions?

Okey class, if that so let’s try to apply

the midline theorem of trapezoid into
solving.

Midline theorems of Trapezoid is

equal to half the sum of lengths of the
(refer to the ppt) bases.
G. Generalization Trapezoid is a quadrilateral with

learned today? The parallel sides are called bases.
The non-parallel sides are called legs.

Can someone state the properties of

angles whose common side is a base of the
What we call to the parallel side of trapezoid? trapezoid
Trapezoids have two pairs of base angles.
What about the non parallel?
M=sum of the bases/2
Anything to add, class on the properties of
trapezoid?

If you are finding out the length of median of

a trapezoid what would your formula be?
Very Good
H. Evaluation
In Trapezoid LIKE, Y and U are the
midpoints of LE and KI, respectively.
Consider each given
