M60 Plus
USER QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
Dear Customer, the aim of this Quick Reference Guide is not to replace the User Book that we recommended to read
carefully, but to guide step-by-step the operator through the daily use of our sweeper mod. M60 Plus.

This Guide highlights the most user functions of the machine and gives some useful recommendations, ad well ad few
practical examples and tips.

It helps the operator in the learning phase and should be kept in the cabin for quick look in case of need.

GENERAL RECCOMENDATION: ALWAYS ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE () AND ALWAYS POSITION THE DRIVE-DIRECTION
LEVER IN NEUTRAL POSITION () BEFORE ANY CHANGE OF MODE OR FUNCTION.

A. PRELIMINARY OPERATION UPON DELIVERY OF THE MACHINE – selection / notes


1. Connect the battery by tuning the specific handle in the position shows below (Photo 1). Do the opposite
operation in case you want to disconnect the battery (RECCOMENDED in case of long periods of machine’s
inactivity)

2. Then start-on the machine and drive it off the track or container as per following steps B÷D

B. ENGINE START – sequence / notes
1. Check that battery is connected as per step A (PRELIMINARY OPERATION)
2. Climb into the cabin helping yourself with the right & left grab-handles that you will find on both sides of the
cabin
3. Sit in the cabin driver’s seat
4. Adjust the seat and the steering column for optimal visibility and work comfort (consult user manual)
5. Check that: parking brake engages (Photo 2) / drive-direction lever in neutral position (central position of the
lever - Photo 3a)
6. Check fuel level
7. Start the engine (Photo 3b)
✓ REMARK – If drive-direction lever NOT in neutral position, engine does NOT start

C. SELECTION OF TRAVEL MODE (TM) OR WORK MODE (WM) – sequence / notes


1. Make sure that parking brake is engages and drive-direction lever is in neutral position
2. Select the required mode (Travel / Work) by using the appropriate button (Photo 4a)
✓ Symbol next to the corresponding mode button lights-up when mode selected (Photo 4b)
✓ REMARK – If drive direction lever is NOT in neutral position it will NOT be possible to activate the selected
mode

D. TRAVEL MODE (TM) – sequence / effects


✓ The TM is used to transfer the machine without sweeping activities
✓ In TM all functions and corresponding buttons related to sweeping and waste hopper are disabled
✓ REMARK – Maximum transfer speed in TM is set to 40km/h
1. After performing steps B and C, and having selected the TM mode, pull up and bring the drive-direction lever
in the position required (Photo 3a), release the parking brake, and press the accelerator pedal to start

E. WORK MODE (WM) – sequence / notes
✓ The WM is used to start all sweeping activities, and to activate all waste hopper functions
✓ In WM all functions related to sweeping and to the waste hopper are activated
✓ Nevertheless sweeping functions and hopper functions cannot be operated simultaneously but alternately.
When sweeping functions are ON, hopper functions are OFF, and vice versa
✓ REMARK – Maximum working speed in WM is set to 20km/h
✓ VERY USEFUL AND IMPORTANT FEATURE: as soon as the reverse gear is engaged all active brushes are
automatically stopped and raised and water turned OFF (if ON). When forwards gear is engaged again, as soon
as the accelerator pedal is pressed all interrupted functions are started automatically. Also in Work Mode the
operator can concentrate on driving, in full safety!
✓ We RECCOMENDED the following sequence to start sweeping:
1. Perform steps B and C, and select WM
2. Select the sweeping function/s required from the keyboard ()
3. EASY-START KEY-BUTTON (): Alternatively to point 2, if you press the EASY-START BUTTON (RECCOMENDED)
the following functions are all activated simultaneously:
• Main central brush and vertical loading conveyor (d)
• Right-hand side brush (c) and left-hand side brush (b)
✓ By PRESSING ONLY ONE KEY-BUTTON you are now ready
to start sweeping with all your main functions activated
✓ If the EASY-START BUTTON is pressed again (for 2
seconds) all the same functions are automatically and
simultaneously disabled
✓ In order to disable only one or more of the above
functions just the corresponding key

ALL SWEEPING-FUNCTIONS KEYBOARD DESCRIPTION:

✓ a equally increase or decrease the rotation speed of both


side brushes. It is not possible to make separate or different
brush speed adjustment
✓ b & c operate left (b) and right (c) side brushes
✓ d operates main central brush & vertical conveyor
✓ e allows to invert rotation of the vertical loading conveyor in
case of obstruction. Proceed as follows:
• in case of obstruction all functions stop automatically
• hold e pressed as needed, until obstruction is removed
• start sweeping again as per above sequence
✓ f operates vacuum fan – turn off if WET conditions
✓ g operates the water spray system (optional) on both side
brushes. REMEMBER TO FILL THE WATER TANK
✓ h operates the side brushes’ working lights for night work
✓ i EASY-START
✓ l water tank level indicator:
• green solid, full
• green blink, half full

F. WASTE HOPPER OPERATION – sequence / notes
✓ The waste hopper collects all debris and dust during sweeping
✓ There is no warning given when hopper full- That the hopper is full can be seen on the rear video camera, as
the machine does no longer collect dirt properly and starts leaving dirt behind
✓ Time to go for dumping!
✓ The standard machine dumping height is 1,05m. With the “high dump” (optional) the machine can dump at
any height from 1,1m to 2,5m
✓ We RECOMMENDED the following sequence to use the hopper control commands:
1. Reach the dumping site and activate the Work Mode (WM –
see point E), if WM not yet ON
2. Press h (PTO) to activate/allow the hopper functions
ALWAYS NEED TO PRESS h BUTTON BEFORE STARTING
HOPPER OPERATIONS – PRESS IT AGAIN WHEN FINISH
• Button h automatically deactivate all sweeping functions
3. Keep pressed g for about 10-15 seconds to shake the dust
filter.
WARNING: the dust filter must be shaken at each dumping
operation. More frequently if working in very dusty
environments.
WARNING: the dust filter must be shaken with the hopper in
the horizontal position (i.e. not tilted)
4. In case the machine is equipped with the “high dump”
(OPTIONAL), raise the hopper to the needed height by
keeping pressed button a (to lower back the hopper keep
pressed b)
5. Keep pressed e to open the rear hopper door
6. Keep pressed c to tilt/dump the hopper
7. Keep pressed d to recall the hopper in horizontal position
8. Keep pressed f to close the rear hopper door
9. Keep pressed b to lower the hopper in case raised with HD Photo 7

10. Press h (PTO) to deactivate hopper and reactivate sweeping

ALL HOPPER-FUNCTIONS DESCRIPTION:

✓ a & b operate hopper’s raising (a) and lowering (b)


✓ c & d operate hopper’s tilting (c) and recall (d)
✓ e & f operate hopper’s rear door opening (e) and closing (f)
✓ g activates dust-filter shaking device
✓ h (PTO) activates/allows all hopper functions

✓ REMARK – during all hopper operations the reverse gear buzzer sounds and the reverse warning lights flash, to
warn the people around the machine that there are moving parts

G. SUSPENSION – sequence / notes
✓ The machine is equipped with a rear suspension levelling system. In TRAVEL and WORK mode, the correct
position is of auto-levelling, HIGH and LOW modes may be used when loading on a vehicle transporter or for
overcoming obstacles.
• To enable the high suspension mode, press button c (Photo 8)
• To enable the low suspension mode, press button d (Photo 8)
• To enable the auto-levelling mode, place key e (Photo 8) in the center

H. STEERING MODE (OPTIONAL) – sequence / notes


✓ The machine may be equipped with a steering system that can be selected to two or four wheel steering.

• To enable the four wheel steering, press button b and move the steering wheel until symbol
appears on the display

• To enable the two wheel steering, press button a and move the steering wheel until symbol
appears on the display

I. FRONT EXTENDABLE BRUSH (OPTIONAL) – sequence / notes
✓ The front extendable brush serves to widen the cleaning path, reaching hard-to-reach corners, sweeping at a
higher or lower level than the roadway (e.g. sidewalks, road gutters …), etc.
✓ The front brush (Photo 9) is composed by two articulated arms that are folded one on the other when not in
use: 1st brush-arm segment X (folded leftwards), and 2nd brush-arm segment Y (folded rightwards)
✓ The front brush is activated independently of the other functions, in the Work Mode, with its own dedicated
keypad (Photo 10), ergonomically located as a neutral extension of the right-hand-armrest

✓ We RECOMMEND the following sequence to use the front brush commands:


1. Activate/deactivate the front brush function via the yellow ON/OFF button (e)
2. Activate/deactivate the working light of the front brush (f)
3. Turn the road’s work side by right-hand to left-hand and vice-versa (g)
✓ REMARK – change road’s work side ONLY with the brush on the floor
✓ REMARK – automatically invert rotation
4. Tilt the joystick h to the right or left to move the front brush horizontally (a), as per your sweeping needs
5. Tilt the joystick h up or down to move the front brush vertically (b)
6. Tilt the joystick i to the right or left to regulate accordingly the brush (d)
7. Tilt the joystick i up or down to regulate the lead angle of the brush (c)
8. Push the buttons l to increase (+) or decrease (-) the brush rotation speed
9. When finish using the front brush, move it back on the original folded position and switch it OFF (e)

J. DAILY CLEANING
✓ GENERAL CLEANING
• Remove the dust in the cabin using soft dry cloths;
• Fabric panels inside the cabin and seats: remove the dust using a vacuum cleaner; do not wash them;
• Glass: use a specific detergent applied on a microfiber cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth;
• Wash the bodywork with the high-pressure hose.

✓ CLEANING THE WASTE HOPPER (Photo 11)


The cleaning operations must be performed when the hopper is completely free from debris, tipped over, the
door completely open and the machine turned off with the parking brake engaged.

• Wash the hopper using the high-pressure hose and make sure all the waste has been removed;
• Once the washing procedure is complete, let water brain from the hopper for a few minutes;
• Lower it back completely and close the waste door again.

✓ CLEANING THE VERTICAL LOADER (Photo 13)


Never clean the loader mechanism it is moving. Stop the mechanism before approaching it with the high-
pressure hose.

• Tip over the hopper completely;


• A high-pressure hose is recommended to wash it. Also make sure that all the waste on the vanes, belts and
the ring gears is removed;
• Cause the reverse movement of the loader mechanism by acting on the relevant loader activation switch;
• Lower the hopper completely at the end of the cleaning procedure.

✓ CLEANING THE HEAT EXCHANGER OF THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (Photo 14)
The machine must be turned off with the parking brake engaged.

• Open the left-hand side door;


• Clean the fins of the radiant mass using a low-pressure water jet or air jet;
• Check that the fans spin freely;
• Once it has been cleaned, close the left-side door.

✓ CLEANING THE HEAT EXCHANGER OF THE DIESEL ENGINE (Photo 15)


The machine must be turned off with the parking brake engaged.

• Open the left side door;


• Clean the fins of the radiant mass using a low-pressure water jet or air jet;
• Check that the fan spins freely;
• Once it has been cleaned, close the left-side door.

✓ CLEANING THE HEAT EXCHANGER OF THE A/C/ SYSTEM (Photo 16)
The machine must be turned off with the parking brake engaged.

• Open the right-side door;


• Clean the fins of the radiant mass using a low-pressure water jet or air jet;
• Check that the fans spin freely;
• Once it has been cleaned, close the left-side door.
